pak hash does not match calculated hash

I just re-downloaded Apex Legends after a few months hiatus, I try to launch the gamed and when it tries to load it gives me the error message, "pak hash does not match calculated hash." It's an engine error it says and I have found no one else who has this issue. I'd like to play with my friends, I need help!

  • I had this issue on the steam version of apex. All I did was verify the files on steam and it worked perfectly fine. If you don't know how to do that you go into "properties" on apex, click "verify this games integrity files are installed correctly" and verify them. It should take no more than 5 minutes depending on you're computer.

    Game crashed while playing ranked with error : Pak hash does not match calculated hash
    Since then, I get the same error message upon launching the game. No errors with other game, this ish only happens in Apex Legends 

    -reinstalled the game already and tried 3 different ssd's
    -Added steam and EAC folders exclusion with antivirus
    -even clean installed windows and updated all the drivers
    -I'm on Steam and also tried installing the game on the EA app, but it was still the same.
    Thought it was due to a faulty ram/ gpu but no, I tried other set of 16gb ram and with my old gpu(installed correct driver) and its the same engine error upon launch


  • Its a pretty simple problem, when I start the game 90% of the time it crashes with the message: pack hash does not match calculated hash. I have had this problem for roughly a month and couldnt find any solutions. I have tried Verifying the game wich hasnt worked. I also tried reinstalling and updating my graphics driver wich also didnt work. I also dont use any externalprogramms or a VPN.

    Edit: this is apex btw.

    Can you launch any other triple AAA games or like valorant, the finals, farlight for example? I'm having the same error for a month now and cant launch any other games than Yu Gi Oh. I changed my motherboard and ram yet still the same annoying error. I'm now suspecting its due to faulty processor on my end.

    What should be happening instead? loading me into the lobby

    when i open apex legends it gives me an engine error saying unsupported pak hash format

  • I've been having problems with apex for awhile now and i've tried every tip i've come across with this problem but none have been working.

    I will leave an attachment with a picture of the current error message i get when trying to start Apex.

    When trying to open Apex i get a small white window that says "engine error - pak hash does not match calculated hash"

    I've tried every solution that i could find online but none that helps.

    All the things i've tried so far.

    * Uninstalling/reinstalling through both steam and EA app

    * Reinstalling Windows 10 and 11.

    * Verifying integrity of files (steam) -  Repair (EA app)

    * Updating all drivers (including GPU, motherboard, BIOS)

    * Removing said "rpak" files that i've gotten errors on and repairing the game.

    * Cleared all cache files.

    * Uninstalled Easy Anti Cheat and manually installing.

    * Given access through firewall to both Apex and Easy Anti Cheat  (including to temporary disable firewall)

    Specs on PC:
    Processor AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
    RAM = 32,0 GB

    ROG-STRIX-B450-F-GAMING-ASUS-5404

    NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060 Ti

    P.S

    At this point i'm not really expecting a solution as it feels like i've given up at this point.

    Worst case for me is that i just keep it uninstalled and never bother with the game again.

    I've moved your post to this thread as it seems to be the same error. Please have a look at the accepted solution as that has resolved the issue for some players.
