Re: Game crash when sharing screen on Discord

Hey @ScreamEggs

Is it giving you any error messages when the game crashes, or does it just crash straight to the desktop?

    @ScreamEggs

    Gotcha, thanks!

    Before anything else, have you had the chance to try repairing Apex Legends to see if that helps? If you're using Origin you can right-click the game in your Library, and you'll see the Repair option when the menu pops up.

    If you're using Steam, try verifying the integrity of the game files to see if that helps. You can find more info on how to verify the file integrity at the Steam Support website

    Let me know if you're still running into any crashes after that. Thanks!

  • I haven't tried to repair it (Origin). I'll try that and get back if something changes.

    Meanwhile, it happened again, once, on 10.05.2022 (yesterday)

    Hi @ScreamEggs

    Did you have the chance to give it a shot? Are you still seeing any crashes?

  • Until now, no.

    Although, the game has huuuge frame drops in the menu and makes my whole PC laggy until I get in a match and get disconnected randomly during a match 😞

    @ScreamEggs

    Thanks for following up!

    Could you share a DxDiag when you've got the chance? You can find more info on how to pull one up over at the EA Help website

    Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!

    @ScreamEggs

    Thank you! I appreciate that.

    Have you had the chance to try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there's something else running in the background that's causing the crashes that may help to get around it.

    For more info on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help site. Please let me know how that goes when you can. Thanks!

  • So, just had another crash while trying to share on Discord in the first match. And then in the second match got a crash with the error attached.

    I'll try to start up the PC in a Clean Boot and see what changes. Thanks!

    This is getting ridiculous.... got 2 crashes in the spawn of 1-2 minutes. Crashed while I was with Pathfinder and used a shield cell, got back into the game, entered a fight immediatly and got a crash again.

    Hi @ScreamEggs

    Thank you for the updates.

    What do your temperatures and hardware usage look like when Apex Legends is running? Are you seeing anything out of the ordinary there?

  • Hello 🙂

    I'm attaching some screenshots of temperature and usgae during gameplay.

    Temperatures are rather in the known interval for me, but the I thought the GPU usage is quite high for Apex (all graphical settings are on high/max).

    @ScreamEggs

    Thanks for the update!

    How does this compare to what the game is running like when you're screen sharing? Does it look the same up until the crash, or is it different?

  • @EA_Kent

    Thanks for the involvement!

    The usage is roughly the same (let's say 5-10% difference) when i share my screen or not.

    The latest crashes have happend while not sharing my screen, and have been the most frequent lately (1-2 weeks).

    Hmm, got it.

    Have you tried running a memory test on your PC to see if it finds any issues? Windows has a built-in memory diagnostic tool you can use. If you search for Windows Memory Diagnostic in your search bar it should come up. There are also some third party tools you can use instead, if you prefer.

    If you're able to give that a shot please let me know what you find out. Thanks!
