Re: Windows 11 Limited FPS? Stuttering. Low FPS.

Thanks for the updates!

Have you tried starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to test and see if that makes any difference? That way if there's anything else running that could be related to the FPS issues it might help to get around it.

For more details on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

For me mouse stuttering (moving mouse around caused fps to drop even to 30-40 from 141...) was introduced by this update: KB5008295 uninstalling it fixed the issue. I have already reported it to Microsoft.

  • Hi EA+Kent. I disabled everything and now I'm back up to 120FPS! awesome.

Do I just start enabling everything back and see what is triggering it?

The easiest way to do it is to re-enable everything in groups. So that way you don't have to do it all one-by-one, and you can narrow it down if you start running into the same issue again.

  • Hi Kent. I also had similar problems (60 fps before downloading Windows 11, 24 fps on Apex after downloading Windows 11), but doing a Clean Boot didn't help. What else can I try to fix this? I've attached a MSInfo report, if that helps.

    Hey @nonegiven224

Have you been keeping an eye on your temperatures and power usage while Apex Legends is running? Are you seeing anything out of the ordinary there?

What does the disk usage look like when the game is running? I saw a couple reports recently mention it was spiking pretty high, so I'm curious if that might be happening here as well.

  • @EA_Kent I think the issue is with my GPU, actually. Windows isn't detecting my Geforce 1650, and is using the Intel integrated one. I've tried forcing it to use the 1650, but all the tutorials I've looked at say to use Nvidia Control Panel, and I can't open that for some reason. I've uninstalled and reinstalled graphics drivers; didn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

What are you seeing when you try opening the NVIDIA control panel? Is it just not launching, or does it give you any error messages?

Hmm, gotcha. You might need a clean uninstall and reinstall of your NVIDIA drivers.

You can remove the drivers using a program like DDU, then download the most recent drivers from the NVIDIA website. Keep in mind that DDU is not EA software, so you would be using it at your own risk.

For more info on how to install the most recent drivers check out the EA Help website

If you're able to give that a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

    Hi @felixb123451

If your FPS are lowering over time, it could be an issue with overheating. Have you checked your hardware temperatures while Apex Legends is running to see if anything is getting too hot?

What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there's anything else running that could be related to the issues you've been seeing, that may help to narrow it down.
