Where did the issue occur? In a match
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Anywhere with 3 guns
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Picking up a new gun
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Reproduced it before writing this report
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Minor impact to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? When picking up a new gun, sometimes the wrong gun is replaced/dropped. (the one not highlighted in the UI)
What should be happening instead? The weapon currently highlighted in the UI should drop instead.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This bug can be reproduced anywhere as long as there are 3 weapons. (I.E. the firing range) 1) Pick up two weapons so both weapon slots are filled. 2) Press 2 to equip your SECONDARY weapon 3) Press 3 to switch to melee 4) Open your inventory 5) Swap the weapons around 6) Exit inventory 7) Notice the UI is still highlighting the weapon you were holding in step 2, but now in the PRIMARY slot 8) While still in melee, pick up a new gun 9) It will drop the weapon in your SECONDARY slot, instead of the highlighted PRIMARY one
This behaviour only seems to occur when swapping your equipped secondary to the primary slot. Not the other way around.
You have to be in melee mode when swapping weapon slots in your inventory.
If you swap slots while holding a gun, this bug does not occur.
Holding a gun after swapping slots will also prevent the bug from occuring.
I have not tested this while holding a grenade.
This bug is pretty annoying since it could potentially spill all the weapon attachments of the gun you did not want to lose all over the floor.
I'm pretty sure this thing has been randomly driving me nuts since season 0.
Here's a video of me reproducing it step-by-step:
