Right now, the game is forcing us to play modes and maps we actively dislike just to get to the ones we actually want to play.

The Problem:

Mode Lock: If my favorite Mixtape mode is Team Deathmatch, but the current rotation is stuck on Gun Run, I have to wait 30 to 45 minutes just to play one match of TDM.

Map Lock: The exact same problem applies to maps across both Battle Royale and Mixtape. If I want to drop into a specific map, I am forced to wait up to 90 minutes for the public rotation timer to tick down.

This is an insane time gate for a game that is supposed to be fast and fun. We shouldn't be forced to stare at a countdown timer just to enjoy our favorite content.

The Impact on Matches: Because we are forced into a single rotating queue for both modes and maps, it creates a terrible experience for everyone:

AFK & Leavers: Players who hate the current mode or map just go AFK, hot-drop to die instantly, or quit the match early.

Burnout: People get tired of waiting for their preferred map/mode combo and just log off to play something else instead.

No Freedom: We get no freedom to actually practice, warm up, or enjoy the specific environments and modes that fit our playstyle.

The Solution: Give us matchmaking toggles and map choices.

For Modes: Let us check the boxes for the modes we want to queue for (e.g., TDM, Control) and uncheck the ones we don't want (e.g., Gun Run).

For Maps: Implement a map-select queue or a pre-match map voting system like almost every other major shooter has done for years.

The Apex Legends player base is massive - queue times would be perfectly fine if you just let us filter our matchmaking.
