...People almost always jump into busy areas? (and die, obviously)...(my) People never stick together? (and die, obviously)...My bullets pretty much always miss despite my crosshair being flextaped onto the enemy? (and I die, obviously)...That I always get legendaries for things I will never use? (And die... no... wait...)...That my body seems to be made out of Styrofoam and apparently takes x100 the damage?Okay. Great game, I love it. I haven't had this much fun in a very long time now, and I'm glad I can escape some of the real world's problems thanks to Apex Legends together with my friends. But seriously, some parts get easily frustrating by now that I've gotten more into it. Namely those above. I mean I get that I'm not nearly as skilled as other players. Been playing for too little for that. But if my crosshair is fixed into the target and no bullet hits, it just feels... off? But the other way around, I probably have a nyodium super magnet of doom on me and I soak up every bullet in a 5 meter proximity.And in the times when my friends aren't around, I obviously have to play with randoms. Problem is, most of them spread out, jump into busy areas, don't heal despite the time given, and ultimately die despite having enough time for everything.Well, in the end, all I wanted to do is ask... How to git gud?

@Peri_Longbow_plz Magnet of DOOM drew me in.Firstly, a Sentinel and Mozambique setup should only be used by those adept at the game as missing shots will not be forgiving even for experienced players. I would personally advise against snipers as you can close the distance in most situations and having a secondary CQC will help if missing shots or downing a second player. If you're adamant on using a sniper then a r99/prowler/PK or even a flatline are generally the best choices and, of course, the wingman.

@Peri_Longbow_plz Although it's been reclassified as an "AR" the G7 as a marksman rifle will still let you fulfill the sniper support role perfectly, the added benefit being you will need to stay slightly closer to your squad than you would with a sentinel or triple take for example.Due to the g7's higher versatility at multiple ranges you could actually continue to run a hammybique as a secondary also.I normally stick a 2x on my mozambique and a 3x on the g7 with this loadout, as when i reach the end circles and its 2-3 teams at CQC range i can just drop the 3x, switch the 2x to the g7 and just hipfire finish people with the bique as its actually brilliant for hipfiring.Half the job of playing a sniper in apex is to still be able to stay within support range of your squad...so that versatility really is key. Lose your line of site as a sniper and you're useless...especially if you're 100m behind your squad.

It tells me the average ping is 28ms, sometimes going up to 35ms, but usually stays in between. I would assume those are normal fluctuations though. Using wired internet, btw.

Not too bad, assuming your packet loss was minimal too if you're hardwired in.In which case it'll be net code issues with the whole getting melted in an instant, either that or your being clocked on the noggin a lot. Death reports will confirm which it is.As for random squads being pretty lackluster. You'll never be able to fix that lmao, my only suggestion would be to try and guide them in the right path using a mic. Some players won't respond but they will be more receptive.....won't guarantee you the wins of course but it may improve your odds of survival somewhat.Obviously i don't know how well you play, but regularly practicing recoil control and evasive movements for a little while before jumping into the game goes a long way to helping you out too....even if its just as a warm up.Sorry i can't be of more help than that!

1) Some people play Apex Legends like its Team Deathmatch or a FFA. The reality is that positioning and intelligent decision-making mean far more than skillful aiming. Of course mechanical skills -- such as aiming -- are important; we all innately know that. But the cerebral aspects of playing a BR will outweigh raw mechanical skill more often... and in an "overall" sense. Your teammates who rush into highly populated areas in order to farm kills have put their sense of strategy on the backburner, and prefer to lead with their ego instead of their experience and intelligence. The only downside of them dying early 9 out of 10 times is that you have to suffer for it, as they are part of your squad. 2) See above -- ego and thirst drive some players, and thus they separate from their squad and play like its a solo deathmatch. OR they expect you to follow them around and be their meatshield/wingman in their (often futile) attempt to mow down as many people as they can as fast as they can, die, find a new game, rinse repeat. I'm not sure what is so attractive about playing queue simulator, but to each his own. 3) Some guns have a random distribution when it comes to bullet spread. In other words, your sights can be perfectly on target, but due to the model of the gun, the bullet can randomly hit within (for example) a 2 inch radius. Sniper rifles and assault-type weapons have very high accuracy: where your sights are pointed is where the bullet is going. Sub-machine guns and pistols generally have a larger radius of "random."In Apex Legends, which doesn't have a hugely sophisticated model of gun mechanics, I believe recoil kind of encompasses this concept. You can be pointing in the exact spot a target is standing, but your gun kicks first and shoots after (not all guns, but some certainly do; see L-Star). The process is simply too fast to perceive under normal conditions. I believe this is why certain guns are very inaccurate at medium-long range and beyond. This is why the L-Star is a beast in close quarters, but falls off quickly at range. 4) Pray to the RNG gods. 5) You'll get shredded like a target dummy having a bad day if you stand around like one. Move your candy * like your life depends on it; often it does.

@Peri_Longbow_plzR99, prowler and flatline <- using this more recently as it slaps both mid and CQC hipfire without needing to find as many attachments like a prowler.

As for Wattson, I'm far to aggressive for that playstyle so someone else will be much better suited to answer that.

@Peri_Longbow_plz Wattson has a pretty defensive play style.
You know, just drop a few fences around an entrance/choke point.
Put down her ult in a place you plan to stay in, doesn’t even have to be indoors, (although it’s much more effective there).
Good idea to hold on to at least one ultimate accelerant, as it will fully charge your ult.
Her ult is good for sniping, as it will regenerate shields if you get fired back at, and can even serve as temporary cover.
She has Low Profile, so I assume she is at least somewhat hard to hit.
Camping is good, but you don’t have the same area denial as Caustic. You won’t do much damage with your traps, but if an enemy crosses them they are a sitting duck.
These are kind of obvious things, but I thought I’d mention them anyway.
Overall, Wattson seems like a good character for you to play, mainly because of her ult, but you’ll have to see for yourself.

The connection stats when you load the game are meaningless i can open with 55% packet loss according to it yet game plays fine, then another time it says 0% packet loss but i cant hit anything.
