Matchmaking with Friends Getting Better

So I played Ranked with a couple friends last night. Like 5 or 6 games, maybe a couple more & I gotta say for the most part is wasn't bad! Most games I think we placed top 5 with a couple bad games sprinkled in but it wasn't like we were ever getting stomped by Pred 3 stacks or anything like that.

So I guess that's 1 good thing about this season is mm in 3 stacks is playable.

  • @Lord_Scorpion34I've played with people in the ltm the last 2 days. Premade MM for us was a disaster. Oh and this is around 7 hours of gameplay not 5 or 6 games.

  • @hayhor May have been more than that. But just saying the overall experience was pretty positive compared to the past where soon as you team up you're in lobbies with pro 3 stacks getting snuffed before the 1st ring even starts to close. Or you're sweating most your matches.

We were also 3 different ranks 2 friend silver, me in bronze & the other guy in Rookie still.

Side note - I do miss the point advantage you used to get in lower and cuz that meant more points to earn. Under the old rules dude probably could've made it out of rookie that night with the points we were earning, it's just a non stop grind now rookie - gold/plat.

I feel like rookie should at least have a reduced buy in then increase it at bronze.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Ah I missed the part where you said ranked. It is tighter based on your MMR so if you didn't have anyone in the group with a better MMR it probably was decent.
  • Matchmaking with friends..?

so you are in a premade?

if so that makes things easyer, you know eachothers strong points and weaknesses. you can pre determan who takes what char for a good team ballance etc etc.. so matchmaking has nothing much to do with it.

go solo Q in ranked and find out what a sh show it is.\

now matchmaking is going to have a good laugh on you.

complete bots in your team... and you are fighting s18 masters and diamonds.. and with bots i meen people that dont even know what weapon does what so they pick them all up and fire them to see what they do..

good luck hitting diamond/master this season.. rats hiding everywhere... and bronze feels like the new platinum/diamond..

you have 7 kills and still -30 rp in bronze when there is 13 squads left... then you get sniped by a rat team, a ticket back to the lobby with -30 Rp.

and the Rat team will keep hiding and hit gold befor you leave bronze.

GG real fun. matchmaking is def better now and the new ranked system is just perfect. if you like to get it from behind that is.

    and yes i know GITGUD....

  • Whenever I play BR, it is in a duo queue with a friend who is fairly higher skill level than I.  Over the last year or so, our pubs MM has been so bad that we've taken whole seasons off.  We just ground out the battle pass in mixtape for better or worse.

This season so far, our pubs MM has seemed much more reasonable.  We frequently do get an incompetent third, but for the most part we are not just being destroyed instantly in our first encounter, which has been the case in several recent seasons.  There are still lots of squads in the lobbies who blow through us like we are AI, but it's not like every single squad like it used to seem.  I'm enjoying pubs BR for the first time in quite a while.  WR is at somewhere around 5% as it should be.  I guess it depends on whether the sweat squads survive their drop, lol.

We used to enjoy playing ranked together for a few weeks or so each season.  With the introduction of MMR in ranked, we gave up on that after finishing our placement matches last season - it was a terrible experience.  Between me being middling skilled and the randoms we were given, it felt like banging our heads against a wall.  We haven't even bothered touching it this season.
