@rockyboy1998 If we're talking about Olympus then you're right, otherwise the Mastiff can 2 shot people while peekabooing around corners on 20Hz servers

BUT
It is not a rival of the SMG's.
The Prowler, R-99 & Volt are miles ahead of the Mastiff. I've never seen anyone get two shotted with it when having full purple, gold or red shield it just doesn't hit right at that stage of the game.
I usually run Hemlok & Volt, or Hemlok & Prowler. I love using Volt & Prowler though.- @rockyboy1998 Except Mastiff is a rival for the SMGs that fits the same role, but with a different playstyle.
R-99 is currently the top dog, the Prowler used to share it but it's a care package weapon now and Volt has scarce ammo supply. While you may not see people being 2 shot, I certainly do, especially in CQC when corner peeking. @rockyboy1998 Mastiff actually is a rival for the r-99, even if they are two completely different weapons. In CQC you'll always choose one of these two(and Volt this season). Personally i'll pick anytime the Mastiff so i can use the G7 as a primary. My favorite combo.
