lost all my cosmetics after merging
When cross progression first came out I was going to link my accounts together but I had 2 separate EA accounts with 2 of my accounts one was for switch, the other was for Xbox. I unlinked 1 of my platform accounts to my this ea account. When I logged on to apex I had an error where I couldn’t access any of the in game tabs no legends or the battle pass. And all of my cosmetics were gone including my heirloom but I still had my stats. Disappointed after losing my skins and heirloom. I stopped playing for a month and after that month I got on apex again to see if I had gotten my stuff back. For some reason the game gave me the cross progression prompt. After that I thought I had gotten all of my skins back but I had gotten something else. I somehow gotten 200k legend tokens and about 300 packs and around 500 apex coins when I logged on but still none of my cosmetics were there. I was hoping there’s a chance I can get my stuff back and perhaps my heirloom.

This would be what caused your cosmetics to go missing. Unfortunately, when you unlink an account, your progress will be lost. It does not transfer to a different EA Account.If you're trying to restore missing cosmetics, you would need to re-link your Xbox back to its original EA Account to see if it appears there. We can't guarantee that will return cosmetics lost due to an unlink, but that would be the only way to check as progress cannot be transferred between accounts.
