I'm sorry to say that there info you've seen is from the general FAQ for Battlefield 2042 and isn't specific to Portal. It's just covering the basic gamemodes in that section I'm afraid.
Unfortunately, Dice said a while ago that they don't want us re-creating Hazard Zone in Portal, so I don't see this changing.
It's similar with the XP ratings for Portal in that I can't see them changing much on this front now. If I had my way, though, I'd allow full XP so long as there aren't any big changes to the experience to turn it into a farm.
