It was nerfed because every controller player that plays the game was abusing aim assist + AC42 at medium to long ranges and absolutely beaming people.
AC42 went the way of the SVK because controller players abused it too much. Aim Assist + Weapons like that just don't play well and isn't fair.
While I agree that the nerf was a good decision, it think it has been overnerfed. I'm a controller player (ps5) and aiming at moving people from far away is actually quite challenging. Its extreme fire rate isn't an advantage over other guns like the ak24 at longer rangers because because the shots have to be fired at a slow pace to deal with recoil and moving target. The effective range at which the ak24 high power rounds outputs 22 hp of dmg is much higher (by 25 m), which doesn't make much sense to me
Having said that, I still love the ac42 - the "hyperbursts" feel so satisfying
There's definitely some aim assist but maybe it doesn't always work. The sticky kind of aim assist is apparent when I use assault rifles
The AC42 still feels pretty well balanced and I still use it as my weapon of choice on PC.
Try play on controller then say how is it.
Mk players have more precise aim and this is fact.
Ps only PC gamers stay in this game, console gamers don't stand a chance against pc gamers.
PS4 after 4.0 patch. I find it is still easy to kill medium to long range with the AC42. I switched to PBX for more challenges and joy. Still use the AC42 sometimes, when i have a bad aim day. 🙂
