Yeah it's very hard to understand the thinking behind the decision, a Server Browser has always been an essential core element of BF games. - Sc0tch_Whiskey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@RayD_O1 MM is very necessary at this moment for BF. The game is coming to an end and from what I hear the next BF is coming out 2024 or even maybe 2025? Just what I heard myself. That’s a long time. You still want your players aka customers to be engaged into the game. You want to keep them playing. So it be a smart move in their part. But I have yet to hear a reason why they do not have a SB. Maybe they have a good reason or not. But once gain they don’t communicate as to why.

I also find it very hard to understand the reasons and no one will ever convince me that MM is a better alternative to a Server Browser, certainly not in a BF Multiplayer Title. AOW needs a Server Browser / Persistent Servers so players have access to all the BF2042 maps.
The current MM system means we are put into random maps, often the same map we have just played.
With MM players can wait for days to see their favourite map.
BF2042 does not have very many maps so imho it is important that we get access to play them all, MM does not cater for this need.
Some players cannot access games at all due to low player counts in their region.
The time we spend waiting in MM lobbies after every round would be eliminated if we had the same set up we had in previous BF titles, a Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
- maybe they can make a sistem of matchmaking for mode and map,like this you can choose map and mode what you want play .

Anything would be better than the current MM system but the ultimate solution is a proper Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
It's really the only way we can ensure that ALL players have access to the game and all players can get to play all the maps / modes of their choosing. DICE please look at introducing a Server Browser as one of the QOL improvements going forward.
Imho it would vastly improve the whole BF2042 gaming experience and give a boost to the player base.

I have mentioned Server Browser in every survey, as the #1 thing that needs to be added. There are posts on Reddit, in Discord, on Twitter, and nothing. This thread is now the biggest in the forum and there has not been a post by a CM since April 2022. For those keeping track, that is 14 months ago.
You know what would be professional? Just come out and say something, either way. They plan to add one or it is not in their plans. How hard is that? The silence is honestly disrespectful at this point. They ask for our feedback in multiple ways, but when we give them feedback they don't like or don't want to address, they ignore us. Great job team.
- @Adamonic
It most definitely is the #1 element missing from BF2042 compared to all previous BF titles.
Like you I have always mentioned it in every survey and on here on a daily basis.
Imho BF2042 can never be classed as a true BF title while MM is in place instead of the tried and tested Server Browser / Persistent Servers we were accustomed to in all previous BF's. - Mackstan712 years agoSeasoned Ace
Ignore at best...seems like they very good at it. wish they turn that in fixing this broken and unfinished product.

@Adamonic
I have also too asked for a SB in every survey that EA/DICE presented me and frankly I'm surprised at the silence. We are as a customer worth at least some kind of response. Yep same here, EVERY survey I've pointed out the value of server browsers and persistent servers.
Damn shame EA/Dice has rejected all the feedback, oh well I guess.
I know what to watch for before purchasing another Battlefield title.

I agree with you that the server browser is superior (especially with the fine-grained, custom filtering options of BF4 and earlier titles). I know folks do not want to let go. But the writing has been on the wall since BF1. When they started to slowly erode its functionality and began featuring quickjoin on the consolized UI.
I'm not sure it's fair to say that EA/DICE hasn't acknowledged our desire for one and rejected it. It was made it clear they have no plans to implement a server browser outside of portal. It was stated by the community manager a few weeks after this thread was created. I've posted the exact quote and linked it in this thread before.
We all do not like their answer. But, I'm not sure that requires DICE to repeat it just because a number of individuals are keeping this thread alive. Even if they do say it again, people would still be dissapointed and upset, keep the thread going, and then ask for them to answer again in 6 months.
I think what is fair is for them to confirm why they will not add one. Unfortunately, I think the only answer we get there would be a corporate sanitized response. Beacuse, we all know the reason is SBMM, and future ability to control and maniuplate the experience for purposes of monetization.

I think you will be one of many who will be watching closely before committing to purchase the next BF.
@DigitalHype
I assume you are referring to this statement in August 2022 :
"But we wanted to help to let you all know that when it comes to a server browser, specifically for all out warfare, we're currently not pursuing this. We've had a lot of questions on this. So we wanted to make sure you got an answer."
They said 10 months ago that they were currently not pursuing this, not never.BF2042 launched without a proper Scoreboard, All Chat, Squad Management, Server Browser etc which was not well received by the community. It took a while to address each of those issues but now the only one that is still missing is the Server Browser.
I have pointed out previously on this thread that personally I am not holding out much hope of getting one at this late stage.
However as it has also been said many times on this thread it is important to continue to reiterate how we all feel about MM and keep the thread visible as a reminder that a Server Browser / Persistent Servers is an essential element of any BF game, past, present and future.- @Mackstan71
Imho any BF title will never be classed as a finished product unless it has a Server Browser / Persistent Servers.
It is such an essential requirement and MM simply does not cater for players needs in a multiplayer game. - SharpGoblin2 years agoLegend
Please add a server browser.
- SharpGoblin2 years agoLegend
I meant one for the regular games.
BF 4, I and V had it. Can't say for the older games, but they probably had one too.
- Mackstan712 years agoSeasoned Ace@RayD_O1
Indeed, it's like you said, such an essential reguirement, But i'm afraid this cry for help and better this game lands in deaf man's ears. Times have changes..now you have to pay more for less, and the quality has dropped tremendously. This game is written off on that subject...let's see if they learned from this mistake and see what the next game brings...To be honest?...i have my doubts. - @Mackstan71
I agree it is very hard to have any real optimism but I sincerely hope that MM does not make it into the next BF or any future game in the series.

AOW definitely needs one and yes earlier titles had a Server Browser /Persistent Servers too.

What is odd to me is other topics come up about the game that get mentioned and responded to, about weapons, maps, etc, but Server Browser gets the cold shoulder treatment. It just seems like their excuse is:
SpoilerReasons Now that Season 6 has been confirmed it is even more important that we get a Server Browser / Persistent Servers so we can play BF2042 to it's full potential.
DICE please make it happen.

@RayD_O1
Goodmorning Ray,
Wouldn't it be nice to finaly get an honest answer on this matter? What's the hold up..are they afraid of something?...is there a honest answer?..or...
