    Some other reasons why they don't belong:

    1. Made for bad/new players - gives them a crutch, same goes for ez mode weapons and vehicles

    2. Impossible to balance team based game with unique individual capabilities, this is where we are now

    3. Targeted younger players (goofy design - see OG Angel/Mackay) which is the wrong target audience for BF (mature)
    4. Made to be politically correct. Was any gender/race/ethnicity not represented yet? Don't worry THEY have more coming. Who cares? Wasted dev time on this instead of working on netcode.

    5. Completely breaks game narrative and immersion (worst concept ever, no-Pats really?) - This should've been a follow-up to BF4 storylines.

    * Note - this post is directly in response to the OP's post and is on topic and perfectly written *

    @AdamonicI think we can all agree that this game was not designed for 'veteran' players, at all. Portal was the 'love letter' to us (assuming you don't play with 2042 characters/vehicles/guns).
    The next Battlefield will determine whether the game goes back to its roots, or continues as a hero shooter hybrid for casual players.

    @Lancelot_du_Lac If it was for casual players then the BP would have been easier, and T1 (if not broken) would also be easy. I do think they planned it to be a hero shooter, I’m not convinced they wanted it to be causal. I think they wanted immersion and a free floating wallet for all the cool purple skins. It’s like they had no idea what the BF players actually wanted. I don’t mind the specialists, frankly they could have made that work for both factions and within classes, would have been a step forward. Instead, we got what we got.

    @ATFGunr Perhaps 'casual' is the wrong word - I was thinking along the lines of non-team/squad players, or lone wolf players. For example, I haven't played in a regular squad since BF2.

    @Lancelot_du_LacThat makes sense, I wasn’t calling you out or anything of course. I agree with you completely that it’s not team orientated at all, and does promote lone wolfism. This is the first BF game where I haven’t had a ton of clan mates to play with. 1 dropped off from 4, V basically tanked after 1, and with the inability to join servers and squad up with buddies, there are only 3 out of the old ATF clan playing 2042. I think we have more players still in 1942 than we do with 2042. BF was always great for playing with friends. Not anymore. Hear me Dice?? The spirit of BattleField is dead.

    @ATFGunr It's a sign of the times...

    I still leave on in-game VOIP in the hope of communicating with another player. No luck so far...

    @Lancelot_du_Lac Me too, think I’ve found 2? I leave it on though. Hopefully a server browser happens as rumoured and the ability to use VoIP might be more attractive if you can actually keep a squad together for more than a round.
