As of this morning it appears I cannot play even Solo without EAC which does not have Proton support enabled.
Please fix.
I'm also looking for Steam Deck EAC support to buy this game. It's on sale right now!

This is the main reason I am not playing battlefield. Yes I have a full blown pc I can play it on. But the fact the game doesn't support it is an excuse its as easy as toggling a setting. All the other battlefield games work with the steam deck. I have a bunch of friends that have a steam deck and we would all be buying and playing this but nope maybe one day instead for now I will be playing Halo Infinite on the steam deck

This game is not even running in an acceptable way on a beast of a PC. Imagine how it would run on a SteamDeck. It actually runs fine on the steam deck 40-60fps until they broke it with the new splash screen that locks up

Hello all . I just wondered if you update the EAC to work on Linux . This is the only game i play regulary thats force me and many others to dual boot. I know EAC has been worked on that it works on Linux when enabled .

You would need to contact Easy Anti Cheats as they are the ones that programmed it.
I believe they have already stated that they would not be adding support for Linux.
I would also want proton support with the eac your using in bf2042. Enabling it would be pretty easy and the most important thing is this would support the steamdeck. The game already launches properly on Linux through proton with either steam or the ea desktop but we get stuck at the splash screen because of the eac blocking us from entering. I love playing this game through windows but it is the only game that I play on windows. Every other game I play including your previous battlefield titles work on Linux through proton. Other games have enabled this support including Apex legends which Is owned by ea aswell. So please bring this support, this is a easy task and won't need much attention.
Yesss, let's get 2042 working with EAC. I've recently had a lot of fun playing V and 1 on Linux. It would've been pretty cool to be able to play 2042 as well. With cross progression in 2042 it's even better, cause I could be playing on my PS5 or Linux PC at home and even Steam Deck on the go on the same account. Apex Legends, another great game from Respawn and EA works flawlessly. Let's do it DICE! Please consider it!
Would love to play bf2042 on linux 🙂

1+ for Linux and Steam Deck
- @sk1lld EAC already has it, it's a checkbox in the dashboard
- @Daggintosh Yep it's a pretty simple thing. If they are using the correct eac then they should be able to enable it pretty easily without any real hassle

There's a few other threads for this already. I hope DICE notices... Come on EA, its not hard - many titles support EAC with no problems on Linux. Also helps the player count..... ADD EAC FOR Linux BATTLEFIELD 2042 PLEASE!!!
- @Swedaved Please EA do us a favor and grow the Linux desktop
If you are going to insist on using a program that is widely viewed as dangerous and intrusive for the fans and paying customers of my product, the least you can do it allow it to be available to them on thier preferred platform.
This would be huge for me. My PC has tons of issues when running Windows and Linux is litterally the only way for me to play games nowadays.
If BF2042 supported Anticheat on Linux i would definitely buy it.
I bet a lot of SteamDeck users would too.
- @sk1lld Not true actually. EAC already supports Linux. But the developer has to specifically allow it.
- @CNR_0607 I played bf3 and bf4 . Bought bf 5 but didnt like it , This game i like . And i agreed with you that they sell more copies of the game if they enable EAC with Linux. Yesterday the servers that i did play on had bots running around cause it didnt find other players ...
I gave Apex Legends a try after devs enabled EAC support and now I play Apex a lot, a similar thing could happen if BF2042 becomes Linux compatible. 🙂
- @MrVictoryWin I did tried Apex Ledgends but it was not a game for me. But it runs Great with Linux.
