Re: Battlefield 2042 Linux & Steam Deck EAC support

Just to chime in and make another voice heard I would really love to play this game on Linux.

As others have reported, it's launching and working flawlessly on any modern distribution using DXVK/Proton. The game runs smooth and appears to work equally as great as BF3/BF4/BF1/BFV does.

Please enable EAC support and let the Linux userbase join the battlefield - maybe even do this as a trail for 4 weeks to see if "we" can behave! 😉

Welp I doubt bf2042 will get Linux support at all now, since they are implementing their kernel level anticheat into bf2042.

Sad, as EA has a great opportunity here to create a lot of revenue from steamdeck and Linux desktop users but oh well.

  • @PolluxAU Yup, I just saw the announcement. What a shame as this will also affect any future EA game to be ever released (regarding Steam Deck / Linux support).

I think that after they announced the move from EAC to EA Anticheat it is safe to assume that this will NOT make it to any Linux based system.
