Re: Battlefield 2042 optimization

I setup my old PC at a friends house. It's an i7 6700k with a 1070. It's obviously older, but still, I can manage to get over 100 fps in pretty much any game with low settings. BF2042 is abysmal. They need to just ditch the whole 128 player thing. It's not working.

The engine is amazing up to 64 players with destruction. Hit Reg has always been a little off on smaller maps when everyone is crammed into smaller areas.

Dice needs to focus on 64 player with medium sized maps in my opinion. They gave up so much to get to that 128 player count.

@RaginSam how many DX12 only games with 128p you can compare it to? None ok, that’s what I thought

pure DX12 games have new requirements and with the new gen\current consoles there are many “new” features coming to games so some hardware gets obsolete

and getting rid of a mode due to hardware issues is not a solution, getting rid of a mode because of balance issues like rush\breakthru is ok for me

also, I like the 128p matches, i like the chaos its fun for me and on my PC it runs smooth in ultra on 1080p with vsync (i7-10700 with RXT2070)

@CountSero I also have a rig that has a 3070, so yeah... still isn't optimized.

Again, the engine does really well up to a point. Go back and play BF5 or something. It looks better and is way more detailed. They have to give up things to get to that player count. You missed that point by a mile.
