Re: Battlefield 2042 Platoons

I do care about Platoons because they are actually the reason for true team play.

If you ever had matches with or against Platoons you will notice they are more intense, more complicated and you need to change your default playstyle to fight against them.

They can be very frustrating and annoying when your team is to weak (not enough Mapknowledge, only camping, doesn't play support rules, doesn't flare/spot, doesn't play the objective or just in a few words is poor in teamplay) .

On the other site when you are playing with platoons your rounds can be very easy but also very annoying, may it is the reason you are realizing you are not doing enough for your team, doesn't get enough kills... but besides of that you will also notice in the best case you get much more support, ammo boxes, health packs, revive's, support calling (air drops) and so on.

Really interessting matches become when a few platoons are playing against each other with numbers like 12 vs 12 on conquest or breakthrough (32 vs 32), already there you will notice a more flanking teams, flags are moving faster and there will be more "meat grinders" available.

I also think there should be a feature available that a Platoon leader (and personal like joining friends) can change the Platoon settings (personal settings) that the Platoon (you) can always play together (may with restriction for smaller modes? (tdm/ctf/VIP...) or if set to "off"  are able to play against each other like on default settings.

This feature should be like that:

Platoon Play "ON/OFF".

If off then Platoon members or friends join how much space is left on the server by default settings.

If on then Platoon members or friends join on the same team site, is the team full but on the enemy team is a place then the platoon member would join a queue.

Why is it important?

There are different reasons why...

  1. understand it as a Peacekeeper function, sometimes (mostly on bigger platoons) people acts against each other toxicity because of "fun" but if that happens to often there is very fast the movement from "fun" to "toxicity" which creates a "Kindergarten", of course platoon leaders can say a few words but if doing it wrong or they just don't listen (because of an adult telling an adult) then there is a very high chance that a new "troll" is been born, so it is in the interest of EA's positive play charter
  2. see as a tool for creating more teamplay, when more platoons and friends are playing together, more fun and playtime will be guaranted because they play together because they want to enjoy the game together.

Reasons against this suggestion...

There are reasons and fear against my suggestion which I can fully understand...

  1. most reason is the fear of "sweat fests and purges" = that means very hard rounds with squads who are very good and outmanounver your team, where you give 100% to beat your opponent but you will have to sacrifice your "relaxion" .
    1. Counter argument: Sweat fests and purges are already a problem, to resolve this join a squad who accepts your playstyle and your comfort options, not all "Platoons" are "try harder" and "sweats" at all.
  2. Balancing because as soon one squad plays well together in a giant team of randoms on both sites, they are mostly running the round
    1. Counter argument: It is a huge issue which can't be fixed, Battlefield is a "team game" and if one team decide not to play the objective, not to play as a team or is unable to communicate, there isn't much what you can do, the only way I can see to resolve it is to stack up with other players and playing well together to defeat the "group" or
  3. Balancing issues mainly focused on smaller game modes
    1. Counter Argument: Also a huge issue where I would clearly say my suggestion shouldn't be set on this type of modes at all, may with a restriction,  to keep fairness I would set my suggestion mainly for "giant" game modes like "Breakthrough" and "Conquest".

Besides of my suggestion I also want more restriction for Platoon names, while I know "SS" / "*SS*" doesn't mean "Schutzstaffel" or "Schlägerstaffel" at all, it could also mean "Super Soldiers" or "Soya Sauce" , I still think there should be better filters for Platoon Names and Platoon tags.

So yes, I do care for Platoons and they needs to be available on Battlefield 2042.

It would be great to see some platoon focused stats.  I think it would be great if you could look at a platoon's W/L record, average SPM, etc, to see who you are playing against. It would be interesting to see how the battlefield community would use those stats to create games or how it impacts their playstyle in game.  I know some 3rd party sites track player stats, it would be great to see some sort of native BF support for this. Curious what others think.

nice post mate and I totally agree I lead the largest active clan in bf3 and have great members, even now we arrange matches that are far more engaging than usual multiplay, you can find us in discord under UKF. HOWEVER in 2042 i still don t know if clans are available so ive come up with my own solution, anyone that joins my 2042 discord basically is joining my clan. So when it comes to playing 2042 with ukf you will have to be a member on discord, also you 2042 game name will have to include our game tag as part of the name ie UKF-S0UTH which means that whenever a member is in-game he automatically is recognized as a ukf member and better still as a member of discord can communicate invoice with the rest of he's or her s teammates.

So whether or not 2042 has clans i will.
