Why is EA's own helpline where your customers are calling into not able to provide this information correctly then?

We see and experience repeatedly again and again that the EA Live Support is not coordinated with reality, they provide direct wrong information or misguiding us at best.  Suggest you take an action to get this fixed please, if you care about the customer experience as much as you care about our money.
