Re: Battlefield: leaving a match early when losing

Some might say that if someone cares enough about their W/L ratio to quit before taking a loss, then life has punished them enough already /jk

I'm in agreement with the others that a punishment would be fine for comp, but wouldn't want to see it added otherwise.

  • Wait? So it doesn't keep tracking the match whether it's a victory or loss after you leave it? I thought that was at least the case with Battlelog titles that it will afterwards count as either win or loss. I mean those Battlelog reports will pop up afterwards if you leave prematurely and there's your performance data.

@Teal_Pipo_FredoIt does. I think there has been a long-standing myth about this.

If you participate in a match (read: shooting / interacting) you will take the win / loss and any stats you accrue while in it.

  • @ElliotLH W/L ratio matters when trying to join a high end Clan for competitive gaming, I got reject twice few years back cuz gaming stats were not impressive and yes even W/L ratio. Top Clans wants to know how serious you are.

Leaving match early still gives you a lost (ragequit), so it has no meaning but you just make other ppl suffer more by leaving. So whatever you do, W/L ratio stays same.

Top clans should not care about this anyway, because you can't always affect to that.  But yes should give added bonus for the guys who stayed at the server to the end.

@hearingflame Not currently I'm afraid. There is a sign up on https://battlefieldtracker.com/bf2042 where you can be notified when they're up and running, but there isn't a time frame listed from what I can see.

It might also be the case that the ability to check in-game is added. I've not seen anything official about that though so currently that's just wishful thinking on my part.

i think the best way to make sure this doesnt happen is to let people switch squads and teams again. In bf5 they took it away for some reason, but the team balance ended up being the worst it's ever been. Lobbies would just die out in seconds and there was no ability for the good players to switch sides and help balance things out. There were always a lot more high-end players who would try and make the lobbies more equal and fun by switching than there were good players who switched to have an easier experience. The lobbies were so much more balanced bc the community playing the game very clearly cared more about the game than the devs do. The team balancer in bf5 is the worst I've ever seen. Just allow people to switch squads and teams again; it really helps keep the same exact group of people in the same lobby
