Re: Breakthrough is heavily unbalanced to the attackers benefit

Turned pc on and every time it put me on defenders  after the fifth time….it became  extremely tedious so it’s now uninstalled because I literally can’t be bothered anymore with this mess!

    @emerson1975 I've mostly given up on Breakthrough, sadly. It's my favorite mode, but honestly I can't remember the last time I played on attack, or joined a fresh match vs. one that was halfway through and the defenders were already losing.

    It's not that I lose them all, I win a fair number, but it's garbage and boring playing defense every time, especially when it keeps putting you in the same 2-3 maps.

    While I don't like CQ as much, thank goodness infantry-only and flashback are permanent Portal modes, now. At least I can have a better experience on old, better maps, or my preferred "primarily infantry" experience since there's no option for that in AOW.

    @edgecrusherO0 I feel you there. Breakthrough is my favourite mode but it has been frustrating recently. Quite a few matches seem like a steam-roll right now too - there's be a few ~20 minute matches I've been in, and I'm used to a lot more back and forth.

    With the current balance IMO either attacker should have even less tickets per sector (if any) or defenders need to have easier time to defend. It is boring enough to be defending side and now it is boring and extremely hard.

    It’s a complete farm fest when your defending…bolte death helicopter death rinse repeat!

    Its that bad most people back out of the game just to find an attacking server…:the game is just a big tdm now!

    Yet another issue that would be fixed with the much requested persistent servers and map rotations that would alternate teams between attacking and defending each new round.

    @DuaneDibbley it is like DICE is doubling down on bad. Due to the imbalance of game play, players leave a match if they are on the defending side more often than the attackers. This creates open slots for MM queued players to join repeatedly putting the defenders at a second disadvantage.

    Then for players in the MM queue, the odds of joining an active match on the defending side is considerably higher than joining the attackers.

    I have only played a few matches of BT in the last few months and it has been as a defender every time.

    @Adamonic I played two and a half matches yesterday and and all matches was defending. Actually won one match. Got killed by helis and bolts majority of the matches. Very frustrating.

    Replacing MM with a server browser / persistent servers is the right thing to do, it would definitely help alleviate a lot of the frustrations surrounding BF2042.

    Not sure if it will help but they definitely need to rebalance BT again. They took too much into attacking favour. I wouldn't call nerf on all fronts but eiher reducing further tickets per sector or reducing amount of vehicle available for attackers or increasing the amount of tech for defenders. IMO at least one thing should already help the situation. Preferable tickets so defending each sector feels meaningful and even if you loose it you still decrease total available tickets. They really have to break though defence!
