@X-Sunslayer-X No I'm not forgetting anything. Dice inability to release timely DLC is directly related to upgrades to the frostbite engine. As they kept upgrading the frostbite engine the more buggy releases began.
BF5s lack of content was not just do to bug fixs DICE abandoned it a year early to give more development time to this steaming pile of poo we call 2042.
People think this is a paid DLC vs live service issue... it's not. It's a game engine issue.
Think about it for a bit. In 4 months BF4 had its first paid DLC with 4 maps. 2042 in
4 months had 1 map rework, 1 new map. Yet BF2042 has more support studios and people working on it and had an extra year of development time compared to other titles.
There are only few conclusions to come to. The current Dice/EA devs are lazy or incompetent. Or the Frostbite engine has become so bloated over the years with all the adhoc upgrades that it has become so difficult to program for that Dice cant release timely updates.
I believe it's the later as Bioware directly stated what a nightmare it was to use. Respawn Entertainment out right refused to use it even though EA was demanding all EA studios to use it.
People supporting paid DLC think that it will magically fix the issue. They see live service as when it all went bad ignoring the fact that issue really started with the upgrades to the frostbite engine.
EA itself even admitted to the issue when EA in a stock holders meeting said that they were aware of the issues with Frostbite and were going to invest millions on upgrading the development tool kit. This happened after the Mass effect Andromeda and Anthem debacle.
From what I understand that development tool kit has never materialized.
