Step one. Reassure the public about the development process to be ahead of timetables.
Step two. Release initial trailers presenting standard classes, intense urban combat, Rendezooked moments. Announce 4 season passes.
Step three. Send a Love Letter to the fanbase - Portal with (poorly executed in many aspects) reskinned, redesigned maps, animations, and weapons, everything without server rental services.
Step four. Postpone the launch by one month due to polishing and only fixable minor issues.
Step five. Misqouate the reviews and put phrases taken out of context on the main page.
Step six. Explain that most of the missing content is a Legacy Feature (not a post mortem dear John letter) for 120 bucks on day one.
Step seven. Present known and desirable features for the past 15 years present in the franchise to be Brutal Expectations (in a short span of development time).
Step eight. Reassure that heroes (and business model) are here to stay, even though the overwhelming majority of competitive 5v5 games have got them, not 32vs32 Conquest.
Step nine. Call everyone out "very honestly and graphicly" not agreeing with the current state of the game and policy affairs as "toxic".
Step ten. Allow custom game modes with AI and progression enabled, hope for the best, and players inability to turn AI into quick XP farm-fest.
Step eleven. Host a "competitive" streaming event without a Classic Scoreboard, without major bug fixes.
Step twelve. Express disappointment. Have all options on the table without making a solid game in the first place :P
BF3 had 1 expansion pack released so far and the next was anticipated in February back in 2011. BF2042 is a complete... nada zero so far.
If BF2042 won`t turn out to be the next Anthem and BFV wOke Islands cancellation scheme then good for everyone's money.
