Re: can't guns be leveled in portal maps with 2042 gameplay?

there was pvp ai. didnt know you couldnt have ai. I cant imagine being able to play 2042 on portal map without ai, no one is ever going to join unless it's a default persistent mode.

....there's your problem then.

This is what was outlined for the restrictions.  Notice that any changes using the Rules Editor, AI and/or damage/health automatically results in just capped XP being awarded.  .....so essentially, you would have to have a server with real players only, not messing with those particular settings.  It's ridiculous IMO as solo/coop are nothing but bots and he game was touted for their inclusion, but that's what we have for now.

IMO, I just don't see why they couldn't at least cap Mastery progression (kills, etc) the same way they do for the XP.  Only so many per minute based on a fair expectation of what that might be from gameplay in AOW, solo/coop, etc.  I would even be ok if they made it easier to progress in AOW than Portal in this regard as long as there was some level of Mastery progression to unlock those weaps, accs, etc.  It's better than nothing like we have now and they have all the data they need to make a determination as to what's reasonable.:

    I assumed "Moderate" would allow you to use AI, just not modified health/damage for them. So with those rules, how is a custom experience ANY different than featured playlist match?

    @boleje73

    AI was included in the the list of things that would lead to the harshest restrictions unfortunately including changing the health/damage for players.

    The difference between a custom Experience created by a player and a "Featured" Experience is that (you would assume) a Featured one would be vetted by the folks at Ripple Effect to mitigate any risk that it would be used to "farm" progression.  There simply is no way to do that with randomly created Experiences created by the masses.  ....not way to check all of those.

    Having said that, I still don't see why they couldn't at least introduce a system to cap those things in Custom made Experiences.  They have all the data they need to do that in a a fair and reasonable way.  They do it for XP, why not Mastery progression, etc.?
