Re: Class rework will split the player base - IMHO

@Psubond True but all past games had classes plus this game is severely lacking. I think this may improve the experience. Although rather than class work they could've went a different route like work on the games theme/ back story and added more actual content such as weapons and maps. We really need more maps. 1 per season just doesn't cut it

exactly how changing the game so radically over a year after launch by giving players less options improve the experience?

and it doesn't address my point that the game we have been playing (i have 650ish hours in it) will no longer exist.  the other games you mentioned can still be played.

@Psubond You do have a valid point I just think they're reverting back to classes because they act like they don't know what the game needs.

@SCUBASTEVE120 i think i might be done with battlefield due to how the series has been managed over the past 5ish years. between sonderlund (don't like it don't buy it) and everything that has happened with this game and then the middle finger to the people who have been playing this game since the start, i don't trust or like EA anymore.

i usually buy one game and play that exclusively for a few YEARS. i don't game hop. i will find something else to take my time and money. during the bf V years i played hunter call of the wild. i may go back to that for a few years (i won't be returning to battlefield when i'm caught up on that, i'll find something else) since i'm multiple DLCs behind in that game.

They took a radical shot at something different, trying to bring in players from similar Hero Shooters that were successful, and it backfired. Now we are where we are.

They had such an incredible opportunity to hit one out of the park. Still dealing with the pandemic, COD was/is terrible, players looking for a modern military shooter with vehicle, air, and infantry combat with cutting-edge destruction in large-scale environments. I still can't believe we ended up with this. I had been waiting since BF4 for a modern update after 1 and V which I played, but not to the extent of 4,3, BC2, 2, and 2142.

One of the core problems (amongst a long list of other things) is trying to balance the entire game, in every game mode, when you add multiple new variables into the equation that are exponential vs additive. The Specialists with their passives and gadgets added an entirely new layer to balance. Add the ability for any player to equip any weapon and any gadget at the same time and there are just too many combinations to balance the game with. It is impossible. Oh, then double the player count. Now try to balance again lol.

Going to 45Hz Server Tick rates and not having a Server Browser also killed the player base. The Server Tick rate is terrible on game performance, lag comp, TTK, etc. A lot of players left due to those core issues. A lack of a Server Browser is also the biggest swing and miss I have seen. They could've left MM for Quick Play and made Server Browser the secondary way to launch the game behind an extra menu or something, but not including one was their biggest mistake after adding Specialists/removing classes.

@Psubond I mean get why people don't like 2042 I see all that's wrong with it. Bit the people that liked bf1 but don't like BF5, I don't see why I think BF5 is just as good as bf1 because, 5 has great classes/ class balance, beautiful maps (I like them all on that game), fun vehicles (if u can get 1), great customization, and more. In it's finished state now it's great, they just ended support for it too soon. I hope 2042 get better as 5 did.
