Re: Colored Glow Sticks Brightness

@ATFGunr @Adamonic

Those green glowstick are definitely the enemy. There are other full videos on his Twitch page clearly showing enemy players with bright yellow/green glowsticks. His friendlies have muted blue glowsticks. Also notice in that short clip on twitter that the close friendlies glow blue. And there there is one enemy that runs right through them.

Edited to remove my comments about reporting this. Apologies to the streamer, if they are reading. This isn't reshade. This is built in. ☹️

Some earlier in the thread stated that you can't change the glow stick color, only the icon/nameplates. That is incorrect. The custom color changes the glowsticks as well (both friendly and enemy). I replicated the exact same thing the stream has and it looks bright like his twitch video when using that same color. I think the brightness is increased due to overall higher RGB total values values for some colors, as well as the contrast and some built-in effect with the engine.

    @DigitalHype I looked through the options earlier and didn’t find anything in game that allows the colour to be changed. If there is please share it here. If it’s legit I’d like to know, and vice versa.

    It's accessibility settings. I just replicated the same thing as the streamer with the in-game settings. I edited my prior post to retract it being reportable. It's not reshade. The increased brightness appears to be an artifact of the game engine with certain custom colors.

    @DigitalHype thanks, please tell me the color or post what it looks like in the colored box, and what accessibility settings are you referring to. I want some glow sticks!

    @Trokey66nope, I use those normally as I am color blind like crazy.

    I have tried to change the colors manually, but I cannot get the enemy glow sticks to bloom like that.

    For those curious too, please Me Too the first post so it gets CM visibility.

    @EA_Atic is this a bug or working as intended for enemy glow sticks to bloom like that?

    @DigitalHype That’s where I had been looking, didn’t see one that changed colors for body markers. Is it simply changing the Doritos colour and that also changes the glow stick?

    @Adamonic

    ACCESSIBILITY & OPTIONS -> ACCESSIBILITY :

     DISPLAY: Colorblind = Custom

     DISPLAY: Custom Enemy Color

    The equivalent config settings are:

    GstRender.ColorBlindCustomColorEnemy 190/55/50/255/2.0/0.583/0.470/1.0

    GstRender.ColorBlindMode 4

    Correct. Changing those settings for UI overlays also correspond to the glow sticks, as well as other things (like scoreboard and even the network graph).

    @DigitalHypeThanks, will try it. Appreciate the clear directions 😉 Update: was so straightforward I’m embarrassed I didn’t think of it sooner, or consider the glow sticks match the enemy designated colour. That colour green is the most recognizable to the human eye too. Gonna take some getting used to lol.
  • @Adamonic If Dice removed the Boris turret highlighting of one or two players in the close directional proximity of the device (and making him near useless), it seems unfeasible they would allow EVERY enemy player to be lit up like a Christmas tree passively. If Dice leaves the "bug/feature", they need change the settings as default to make it fair for every gamer.

    I am curious if this "bug/feature" helps color blind players more, less, or not at all?
