Re: Cross-progress question

Hey @zSuperKingz,

Thanks for your visit to the forums!

While there are a few limitations to cross-progression we want to make you aware of, such as Special Edition cosmetics (such as Ultimate Edition content), the Digital Artbook & Soundtrack, unspent Premium Currency and pre-order items not carrying over, we’re excited about giving you the freedom to play and progress wherever you choose to play. Please also see our official communication regarding this: https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/news/battlefield-briefing-progression-and-cosmetics

Just an FYI @WindowsManTv_CZE 😉

So there is cross progress... but we can't play on those platforms using the same input device (refering to k/m on consoles) . Nice! 😞

@DamiaNMaX DICE stated MKB won't be available on console "at launch" which means they are currently looking at the best way to implement it on console and be fair. I suspect we'll see MKB on console in the future - now whether that includes restrictions we won't know until it happens.

  • @EA_Leeuw Thank you for the response and the link. Here is the question I still have. Since I pre-ordered on the PS5, will I have to purchase the game through Origin on PC to play it there as well or will I be able to download the game through Origin without buying another copy?

    Hey @zSuperKingz,

Unfortunately it is not the case that if you purchase one copy of the game for a specific platform, you can also use this copy of the game on another platform. It indeed requires a separate purchase. 🙂
  • @EA_Leeuw Thanks for the quick reply and clarification. I will probably just get a refund for my PS5 purchase and then get it on PC.

    Hey @Sci0n,

    Good question!

Cross-progression is available when you have both console personas connected to the same EA account and own the game on both platforms. 🙂

@Sci0n, I am not exactly sure what you mean. But it is indeed not possible to link two of the same platform accounts to one and the same EA account. You can read more about that here: https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/link-your-console-accounts/

    Regarding unlinking accounts:
You can unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account if you want to link them to a different EA Account, as long as that EA Account has never had the same account type linked to it before in its lifetime.

That means if you unlink an Xbox gamertag (for example) from your EA Account, you can’t link a different Xbox gamertag to it in the future. You can read more about this here: https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/unlink-gaming-accounts-from-ea-account/.

    Hope this helps.

@EA_Leeuw So in short if my PSN is link to another email, so are you saying I can not link it to my other EA account that has my Xbox account linked to it?

@Sci0n, you can link both an PSN ID and an Xbox gamertag to one and the same EA account. 🙂 However, you can not link two of the same platform personas (2x Xbox or 2x PSN for example) to one and the same EA account.
Your PSN ID and Xbox gamertag can have different email addresses, of course!

@Sci0n, could it be the case that there already is a PSN ID connected to the EA account where you want to connect it to?
  • @EA_LeeuwSee it  now says I can not unlink it afdter trying to link it to my other account.

@EA_Leeuw Has this changed as I've had 3 PSN accounts linked to the same EA account for years? Or is that restriction for 2042?

@ragnarok013, yeah. Back in the earlier days it was indeed possible to have multiple of the same platform accounts linked to one and the same EA account. However, this is no longer possible since quite some time. 🙂
