Re: Crossplay In-game toggle request for Xbox series X

@1Hairy-Gorilla well I understand your feeling and I promise no one would like to be forced to cross play. But it is the trend and what most of us would like to have is an input based MATCHMAKING SYSTEM if they are going to force us to play in their way.

  • @M4ssacres  Does cheats stop when a pad is used? Honest question as if so the best anti-cheat should be forced controllers. Somehow I doubt that's the case, PC is an open platform for good and bad there are no ways to stop 100% cheats maybe when windows 11 and TPM 2.0 are 100% needed it might be the case.

Way I see it more cheaters than ever before since there was only 1 AC and now 5-7 lol its big business for a reason. I don't want that near a closed system that has to pay to play online.

In the Halo Waypoint forum, the same topics and discussions have now started...

Input-based matchmaking for casual games, re-adding a toggle to disable cross-play, etc.

One big difference between BF2042 and Halo Infinite : Paid vs F2P.  Unfortunately, we have to assume the cheating situation will get wild in Halo (as in any popular F2P game), so the option to opt-out will become more important!

  • Such a big trend here. Still no answer.

I feel bad for the people who paid to play one week earlier.

If it's a bug they should come and say.

If it's the way the xplay was intended on xbox and they didn't mind to give a heads up before a lot of people paid almost two times the price of the game, well it's just disrespectful at minimun.

  • @M4ssacres they have multiple solutions (and combinations) to avoid a system level crossplay off :
    1. in game toggle
    2. input based matchmaking
    3. consoles only crossplay

Any of those would be better and more enjoyable than what we have right now.

I've got a friend who's still on X1 (he just can't find an XsX to buy...) and I'm planning to play with him on the old gen 2042. So I guess I will have to turn crossplay on when playing with him because we will get mixed with PS4 (no problem, that's fair), and then turn the setting back off when playing the new gen version. It would be so much easier with an in-game toggle that I could have set up differently in each game...
  • @xXGugusseXx I guess 2 or 3 would be nice.
We would have a better playerbase even months after the official release.
I still play BFV and it's really dificult to get a full server in my region. Now if that game had input based matchmaking or console xplay it would be better I think.

@Kratos360Aurion I agree, those 2 are the best solutions IMO (#3 being the one that would be the best of all). But also the ones that will take more time to implement, while we know that the #1 was already working 1 month ago during the beta.

@xXGugusseXx yeah agree with u. one thing that really confused me is why they can pretend that as if nothing happened and yeah there are so many ways to make it better for any of us.The truth that they just ignore us makes me even more angry.

@xXGugusseXxInput based matchmaking still has problems. There is cheating devices that mimic controller Input while using a mouse and keyboard. You'll still run into PC players on controller who can use wall hacks, aim bots, etc, etc. The best solution is a simple on/off option akin to the PS5 version.

@AlphaEpitome true but I think this will be a very small portion of players trying to cheat input base. If you cheat on PC, you don't care about input when you have a wall hack or aim bot, you can still destroy any m&kb players without even taking 10s of your precious cheater time to change an option. And we already have input cheaters on console with Xing or similar inputs, but I really think those are a very tiny portion of players on console.

@xXGugusseXx Would love console only but honestly wouldn't mind input based at all. At least that way u know ur going up against a controller player
  • @rizzo777 That would be the absolute minimum, and shouldn't be difficult to implement... it does not address the potential risks with cheaters and hackers within the PC community, but, better than playing against m&k...
