"Turret shooting it's owner if hacked by Rao", it's the best idea i've read soo far, i 'love it !
Dice please !!!!
And dumb robotdog too.
🙂
Everybody likes what he wants, you can like turrets, but don't twist the game reality to argue about it.
When explaining that a squad can easily defeat a turret... you tell u that you, as a single player, get as good as a squad thanks to your turret.... Funny when you try to explain it wasn't OP no?
When you explain "they want to run like headless chicken"... Hum have you heard about playing the objectivs? Players HAVE to move in the game (i only play Conquest and Breakthrue). Creating an ambush for them is in the game DNA no problem, but it becomes a problem when an AI does the job for the player. Moving has always been mandatory in BF to win a match, campin is an other story.... And you blame TDM player because he doesn't understand ?
You're right when you say that defense is really bad in Breaktrough, but it's a map design failure.
You like Borris and it's turret, ok it's your right. But it's really funny to read you trying to push the idea of a more tactical/skilled game when AI do the job for you versus a game "dumbed down" when it now relly more on players than AI.
Fun fact, on the 4th message (1st page of the subject) you justify the nerf of Borris by the fact that "now the game is played by the call of duty k/d crowd", and the answer of Harlemnycity (19 message on page 2) is? Just read it it's hilarious he tries to go in your way and does the opposite.
AI can be a good idea when implemented a good way, Auto AA turrets defending home base in BF3 to avoid spawnkilling by planes was nice for example and most of the comunity enjoyed it.
But here with Borris ? Open your eyes, most of the player base got mad against Borris's turret and Ranger dog for simple reason, it was as dumb as OP as a a game mechanic. I don't see how Dice could Balance Borris, he suffers a major design flows. Efficient turret he is OP, nerf the turret to a reasonable state (oblivion sounds good to me) and Borris is useless.
Let's forget about Borris, he was just another bad design idea from the start.

It definitely needed a nerf, especially the wall hack. Outside of that, giving it less health was probably enough of a nerf. Everything else seems excessive.

If hacked by Rao!
This is the best idea I've yet seen with regard to the drone.
I wouldn't have minded if DICE had kept the drone as it was but removed the 3D spot and required the deploying player to man it from a distance (like up to ~50m) or be nearby for it to still be dumb but get a damage buff.
