Re: Discussion Thread - Breakthrough Changes

@PartWeIsh I did miss that post. Hopefully not that late to give my input as Breakthrough my to-go main mode.

I will try to keep aside specialists as sometimes in modes like breakthrough and rush the most mobile ones break everything.

My main and biggest complain about current design not even maps but the overtime mechanic. I get that it supposed to create tension in the last moment but as it works now it favors attackers a lot. What get attacker? No penalty on respawn (since the counter switched off), no time penalty (attackers on breakthrough has no cooldown on respawn). Opposing the defenders has long time to travel (same if not longer to run) + respawn timer which makes it rather unfair fight. I think overtime should be either give 30sec to capture it or attackers failed (I mean they have failed already to capture within their time/respawn limit). Another option is to limit their respawns (at least make it with same or bigger CD than defenders). Or allow them only to spawn on base (no spawn beacon/squad spawns).
Right now overtime is just such a BS time where attackers just "throw bodies until defenders run out of bullets". I think this is the biggest things that should be addressed.

The other one is the map design. I get that fist sector favoured to attackers to make round longer but on Hourglass it is too easy for attackers. I don't even bother to defend it. It's just not possible. Neither I have ever seen that enemies ever stuck on this sector bleeding more that 50 tickets. So it is rather worthless. Since breakthrough is all about exhausting enemy forces (at least I see it this way) some sectors really make no sense as it's whole purpose to rather regain point than anything else. Second sector on that map usually falls rather fast too. After that the real fight begins.
Same applies to Kaleidoscope. First spawn for attackers is plain awful since attackers spawn on direct line of sight. Very nice to respawn and get a bullet from camping sniper across the map without even possibility to move. But I guess it falls on general complaint of lack of cover.

I hope you will look into it in future updates for breakthrough.
