@Straatford87 Hey, you still work as a CM !? Haven't seen you in a while! This forum got loads of questions for you guys..
You could just have said you are postponing the feedback loop instead of keeping us in the dark.

Sorry we had to delay getting that info out to you. We just wanted to make sure we were immediately able to follow-up with the changes we've outlined to you today.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this finally mean they are adding Portal weapons into AOW? Big deal if so.

Correct, that is the intent.

Did Ryan say (at 1:55) the S1 map or S1 mapS? I heard 'map' (without S). If they have the balls to just bring ONE map with S1 after 9 months of working on new content, then we can declare this game to be DEAD (with or without server browser).

I can confirm that in the video we are talking about the Season 1 "map", singular.

@Straatford87 I realize that the game is in need of MAJOR fixes and that takes time and resources. But to only get 1 new map with S1 is kind of a slap in the face. BF4 had something like 8 new maps by now.

Does this mean we are not getting a new legacy map for portal?

Thank you for the clarification -- so, just ONE new map for AoW for S1 (I guess the others will be for Portal then, which is actually good news as I mostly play Portal these days).

But as you already hinted at there will be no server browser, do you have some measures in place for players to be able to actually select the map(s) they are playing on?

I just imagine that there are players coming back to check out S1 content, realize that you basically deliver 1/8th of what they would usually have gotten in the same time frame for older titles and then they have to cancel match making over and over and over and over again until they might FINALLY be able to land on the new map?

Maybe you can confirm that there is SOME way (even if not a server browser) that players might be able to select the new map to play on?

I think now is an appropriate time to mention that by this time in its life following launch Battlefield 4 had 3 expansions released. Battlefield 2042 is releasing ONE map after 7 months. This is nothing short of embarrassing for EA and DICE. Do better

I'd like to address this point, very specifically.

In my view, this was the wrong approach. Delaying any and all comment on what was a broken promise for weeks on end is never a good idea. No matter what the apparent justification.

When you announce a deadline for things, players quite naturally develop an expectation that you will meet them. Now, we're not naïve. We know that sometimes things slip, that issues slow things down. However, it seems incredibly obvious that in those circumstances an acknowledgement of such goes a long way.

Consider any other business approaching this in the same way. If a courier says they'll deliver a package on Monday, fails to deliver it, goes radio silent, and turns up on Friday promising to deliver the package at some point in the future, with the excuse they didn't want to say anything before now until they were able to follow up with a statement regarding why they didn't deliver the package on Monday...well, you probably wouldn't use that courier again.

The courier has failed to live up to its word, and has also failed to respect you as a customer enough to even be upfront about it in a timely manner.

Your justification for not communicating with us is very weak. Please do better in future.
