Most experienced console players actually turn off the aim assist snap.
PC players have some pretty fantastic ideas on just how strong aim assist is. If you are curious about how strong aim assist actually is try playing with the arrow keys instead of the mouse (moving the mouse disables the assist for 5seconds). See for yourself if it lives up to the aim bot claims.

And Im over here just wanting Gyro Aim for controller players...😥
The ability to turn the controller into a mouse-like control is so beneficial and more intuitive for many of us and does not need Aim Assist. Extremely helpful and evens the battlefield between KbM players and controller players. Been using on games like MW2 and Fortnite. Plus, adding Flick Stick improves responsiveness (though its not everyones cup of tea understandably).
Here is a handcam of MW2 gameplay in case youre unsure what it looks like and this is all without AA since it gets shut off when using Gyro Aim:
And here is a Flick Stick version (though like I mentioned in the video, theres a missing setting but it still can work):
I think many people would be surprised how many actually use and prefer this system as well. Its been getting more and more heavily asked for on playstation forums as a standard. Not asking for it to replace stick aiming (more Accessibility is always better). But as a standard alongside it to give us more options on how to play.
- ZRuff463 years agoRising Ace@funnyhundy Very good example. That's why they buffed them in the last patch so that console players could actually use them.
- ZRuff463 years agoRising Ace@BgobbleD I tried gyro aiming on mw2 and I'm not a huge fan. I'd have to completely relearn how to play games again if I used that.

Actually I play on both BUT I only play on Consol when I spend a couple months in Florida , I live in NY and it’s not easy to drag my whole PC setup to Florida so I keep and XBox 1 there , and I will admit I literally am terribly bad on Consol and if it wasn’t for the aim assist I would have no game BUT if I spent as much time on Consol as I have invested in PC I’m pretty sure I could Tare it up with Aim Assist .
but the game bar real working well on the apex

But it did take me a few days of playing on Days Gone before I got a bit more comfortable. About a week to become fairly adept. I ALWAYS recommend to people to start against AI in certain games to learn it. Plus, you always have to adjust the settings a decent amount from what most games set at default. Devs have a horrible havit of starting the sensitivity WAY too low. Like with MW2, my sensitivity is at 6.75 for horizontal where the default is at 1.0 haha. Thats a major uptick. And then Threshold and Initial were alway dramatically changed.
But a lot of this comes from already knowing what a lot of these settings do and are capable of for Gyro Aim players. For anyone whose new to Gyro Aim, its fairly foreign language and sometimes devs dont explain it well so it can lead to really bad first impressions.

Aim Assist is out of control, consol has no recoil to top it all off !
