Re: False positive bans

Just like everyone here I got the information from EA that Indeed I cheated and they will leave the ban on. I genuinly feel like they robbed me, I feel scammed and spit in the face. This battlefield was a game that I was waiting for for so long. And all I got is my money taken from me, my time invested in the game thrown in to trash. I hope there is going to ba a lawsuit on them for this, I hope theyr flawed system will ban more people so an action will be taken against their scammy practices.

I just received an email stating I am banned in 2042. Simply put, I am an old school battlefield player, and quite frankly amazing at the game and I do not cheat.

Here is my youtube channel, with many different gameplay videos over various days. Would a cheat upload these? Please unban my account immediately, this is absolutely ridiculous.

I just wish that they could be more precise on what kind of data they 'found' that was worth banning for.

It could be anything, like an unknown (to them) program that hooks into the DX-api to write an overlay into the game (eg. FPS counter, time, whatever). I'm always skeptical to overlays only because of this very reason. Hacks do draw its own elements on the screen into the game so I can also understand they very reason to why such a thing would raise a flag but investigate MORE before just banning someone.

Let's say I'd make my own program to draw a webcam overlay in the corner of the screen for monitoring my baby in his crib. I'm pretty sure that would raise a flag and I'm not saying EA would but I would definitely be banned in some games for it. I think it's lack of competence and FEAR that drives companies to ban anyone for the most ridiculous reasons.

This was just an example out of many, of a scenario that could possibly trigger the ban hammer.

Another scenario is running a well known program for manipulating memory of processes (hey, maybe I want it running to keep my session from a single player game I'm writing a trainer for?). The craziest thing is that you only have to have it RUNNING. It would not matter if the program has hooked to the actual game process. Which is insane. What's next, just having it installed is an offense 😞 ?

Some developers really need to find more sophisticated ways of finding actually game-tampering programs, not only blacklisting programs because they can - in theory - be used for cheating in a game.

My only overlay is Geforce Experience, Which I use in every game and have been since launch so to get banned 1 month later doesn't make sense. I've changed absolutely nothing on my pc software/hardware wise.

So my only conclusion is a human does not review reports, it is essentially if enough people report you the system bans you. So if you are good naturally bad players can only explain that by reporting you for hax. In most case even if the person wasn't hacking, nobody is really recording their gameplay so how do they refute it?

I'm confident atm that I will be unbanned because there is overwhelming VIDEO proof. So if I stay banned I am going to be the biggest Karen EA has ever known. I will cry to random twitch streamers anyone who will listen. I paid for the game, I played the game fairly. Yet I am banned while actual hackers keep playing.

@indi81I am not saying all overlays should be allowed, what I am saying is that the developers have no clue what all overlays are and ban as soon as there something creating an overlay that is simply unknown to them.
And memory manipulating tools are allowed (so far), having one running can get you banned. As again, I'm saying they ban any unfamiliarities to them when the truth is it's not doing any harm. That was my thin red line throughout my whole post but maybe I was unclear....

 Stop crying. If they were banned, they used hacks.

Are they ever going to fix this?? Guessing they will probably tweak their EAC and never go back to address all the accounts that were wrongfully banned...

Guys, please, there's no need to argue with each other. That kind of thing could lead to the topic being closed.
