That'd be most likely, I think. 

Saturday afternoon and I'm the only person in a game. This is not what I call fun!

DICE have dropped the ball here - Portal should always have AI backfill so players in smaller markets can at least play a game.

Tried -

Infantry Breakthrough - 1/64 in lobby

Stanndard Breakthrough - 1/64 in lobby

Rush - 1/32 in Lobby

Conquest - game running

Control - game running

So if you want to play anything other than Conquest (or a special time-limited mode) you are stuffed.

I notice that with the AI backfill the servers fill up pretty well  with human players (UK - PC) once they are up and running.

Yeah, I would indeed think that's the reason.

Thanks for the response, I am just wondering why this Official Portal mode would be any different from say World Tour which also starts with just one player and auto fills with AI from the start.

World Tour and all the other Official Weekly Experiences (Like Rush XL, Conquest of Ages etc....) all have full XP and full progression to the best of my knowledge so just a bit confused why this mode is different.

Update :  I notice they have changed the mode now to Defusal Mode, but it would still be good to follow this up for the next time this Fast Conquest mode comes up in Portal.  

Same problem with Defusal. It's Sunday afternoon and I'm the only person on the server.

Yeah I noticed that. Don't understand why the change in policy for the Official Weekly Portal Modes,
