Re: Forced to play crossplay with PC cheaters

YES! AIMBOTS, GOD MODE, YOU NAME IT. Not just k/d ratio. And Im not talking about choppers, Im talking about I will be playing and get shot thru a wall, or I can empty a clip in someone and they dont die but they shoot me once with a sub machine gun and Im dead. Or someone can be falling from the sky and have the crossbow and shoot me from across the map with a headshot. And EVERY SINGLE TIME THE PERSON IS ON PC. I looked up some of the cheats that they sell for the game and all these align with whats happening in the game. All the console players have what you would consider a normal k/d ratio, some better than others, Even some of the PC players. But there is always a couple who (are not pilots) who wreak havoc and you cannot kill them... to deny there is cheating in the game is just plain stupid when there are several sights who sell them for PC players. Just give the option for console only and let all the PC players hack away. But to force crossplay just to play the game is a terrible idea.

I’ve had some similar experiences getting killed by console players. Getting quick scoped headshot from a few feet, I’m a very twitchy player too, and they can’t seem to miss. The other frequent occurrence is getting the jump on a player, land my shots, he then turns and kills me instantly. A lot of times it’s a console player, but it’s also PC players. Be careful of your bias. I’m guilty of it because a lot of games are cranking up aim assist to compete with MnK.

I think the real problem is lag compensation. Player one sees something different than player two. One happens to be a more accurate representation of what’s actually happening in the server. That’s my guess. Companies are trying to include everyone and make it fair for people that have crappy connections.

@RaginSam Agreed with your lag comment. I’ve been shot around corners, last night died from a player on got her side of a berm, down hill, and I was also behind a container I’d just jumped behind. On my screen I had cover, on their screen I get they could just see my backside. That player was 6-8 at the time. If that’s what it means to hack these days, then they’re really doing it wrong. The established broken game mechanics, net code, data transfer… whatever you want to point in the game will account for this. I clipped through a mountain piece yesterday where almost my entire body was covered. I could see clearly, and if I nudged forward enough my barrel stuck out and I could shoot. To anybody I bet it looked like a wall hack. It was just poor texture mapping (on exposure). Hackusations against an entire community of gamers is just juvenile. Go tell your mommy and leave PC players alone. I die to console players all the time, and although console hacks exist, I hold the game responsible for it not the console or PC players.

@ATFGunr Agreed with your lag comment. I’ve been shot around corners

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting shot around corners happens often now in BF 2042.  Photo below shows me dying by a player who was five feet around a corner, and 7 feet down a staircase.  I'm running 40ms ping on Xbox Series X, he was also on Xbox but most likely high ping.  Dice seems to have programmed the high ping players as "base reality" on the Amazon BF servers, and time delayed the low ping players into oblivion so the high ping players can kill them easily.  Basically high ping feels like low ping, and low ping feels like high ping.  As player counts have fallen, Dice is forcing together players across different regions around the globe on the same server.  I'm guessing Dice twisted the net code which drastically amplified the TTD/TTK/Desync/etc issues after Season 1 launch.  I noticed the issues got worse week after week from Season 1 launch, which is logical as the player counts dropped week after week after players got bored and moved on...

  • I never said console didnt cheat, look up "chronus". There are cheats for console as well. But the majority are PC because with console there is oversight from sony and microsoft, but none for PC. Lag is also a huge problem as well, rubberbanding, not being to aim down sight when exiting vehicles and so on and so on. Yes we all know the game is rediculously buggy. So to have those problems on top of cheating make the game unbearable. And I have been a fan of the franchise since the original and bad company. If they simply just offered console only crossover, it may clear up some of the problems. But EA/Dice seem to only want a money grab by now adding this pay to play, or get skins Bee Ess, instead of just listening to the players and fixing the game first. Just my thoughts, thanks for your input tho!

  • Its nothing against PC players, I build and love PCs and support all gamers. And I agree with the above lag comment and have experienced that crap as well. But when I get shot thru a wall, or see someone come thru a wall and immediately know where I am. Or someone shoots me rapidly with a sniper rifle with no recoil, or instant aim and not dying after being C4'd or shot repeatedly, and every time it is a PC player, the chances they are hacking is high. Im not here to lob insults, or jab at PC players, im just stating the facts from my experience and perspective. Thanks for the comment tho!

Console players may consider themselves lucky as they likely haven't seen any Fall Guys cheaters yet, but PC players can't go more than two games without running into one.

Granted, I've only played FG for a couple weeks but I haven't seen anyone cheat yet... maybe they've fixed that on their end? That article is going on 2 years old.

This IS an issue which can be very easiy resolved for all console players by simply re-instating the second "cross-play ON/OFF" option that was present (but not active) in the BF2042 beta test version.

There were TWO crossplay ON/OFF menu options during the beta test but the second one (which would allow console players to exclude playing with PC) was removed for the final release version of the game.

Cheating is indeed an issue in this game and the level of use by PC players is not something that the console community should have to put up with.

PC players choose to play their games in an environment where this has to be accepted.

Many console players choose NOT to play on PC for this very reason (I'm one of them).

I have a high end gaming PC but I choose to play on console after spending time as a BF admin on one of Australia's largest gaming ISP's.

I spent hundreds of hours actioning cheat reports and viewing video evidence (oh how I could wish for the good old days of the BF2 battlerecorder) and it's actually a lot more prevalent than many are prepared to admit.

Obviously the PC community don't want the console community of BF2042 split off as it's currently a pretty easy farm for them against controller players.

They'd also then have to play against ONLY PC players and the issue would become a lot more concentrated in PC only matches.

Enable the CONSOLE ONLY CROSSPLAY option.

I'd happily wait a bit longer for a match if it meant I was able to avoid PC crossplay.

There's definately enough PC players to populate their own matches (I had a full game just this week where there were only four console players and the rest were on PC).

Console players should not be FORCED to play against PC as is currently the case if we want to "try" and get into a 128 player match.

@OP....try the PS4 version of BF2042 on your PS5......it's often a mutch better experience where you don't get the "here we go again" dodgy gameplay that you often come up against when playing crossplay with PC.

    Console players....give the PS4 version a go....it's a much better experience. - Answer HQ (ea.com)

Don't be surprised if your post gets removed as it's a touchy subject that is unlikely to be addressed.

I would imagine there are instructions to avoid doing anything that will reduce the already low player numbers so don't expect any diligent action to be taken to address the issue of cheating as a whole.

Man, I still have yet to run into anyone remotely suspicious of cheating. Most of these threads, and I don't mean this to be a *, boil down to "git gud" more or less. Poor players running into their first MLG sweaty bros on PC and being blown away at what a very good player can do sometimes.

Gonna need more than, "Dude has really good aim" or "Dude has a super good KDA" or "Dude keeps wrecking me" to determine potential cheating.

I have a a friend with 900 hours who has seen one
