Re: How does Cross play work?

There are ( 2) crossplay matchmaking queues:

PC/PS5/XSX

and

XBone/PS4

With crossplay off you only can be paired with others on your platform who also have crossplay off. (PS4 and PS5 are separate platforms in this context)

PS5 and XSX have the ability to run the PS4/XBone version of the game.  In other words if a PS5 player really wants console only crossplay they just have to run the last gen version.

The PC/PS5/XSX version of the game gets 128p maps and 45hz severs.

The PS4/XBone version is limited to 64p and has 20Hz servers.

    @AngrySquid270Thanks!

    What's the difference in 20Hz and 45Hz? I play the PS4 version on a PS5 and the PS5 version. Both seem to be 60 fps

    @HARLEMnycity The hertz refers to the servers themselves, and can also be referred to as tick rate (how often your system talks to the server). The higher the number the better / smoother the server will run. The 45hz servers can barely handle 128 players on different platforms and in different regions. 20 probably isn’t great for 64p either. It doesn’t have to do with frames on your screen, although you’ll notice it when playing. Have you noticed it seems laggy or you’re getting shot around corners? Part of that is due to the lower tick rates of the server. You think you got around the corner, but the server thinks you’re still exposed.
