@Corvus8gamingBruh penetration power and knock down power along with cavitation are two totally separate things.
As someone that has spent most of my adult life as a combat medic, I’d much rather be shot by 9mm than .45 ACP.Where a 9mm round might enter your thigh/quadriceps muscle, if the round misses the femur(thigh bone) and doesn’t damage the femoral artery, the round can make a clean little exit wound out the other side of your leg. I have personally seen and treated these types of small caliber wounds several times. As long as no bone or artery was damage, you can easily clean up, patch up a person and be done with them.
On the other hand a .45 round “through and through” following the same exact path as the 9mm round is going to blow out a baseball or softball size chunk of meat out of the back of your leg as the round exits. With the increased cavitation, the .45 round could perhaps crack or completely fracture your nearby femur along with possibly rupturing the femoral artery.
Have you ever seen what a 7.62 round does to a cinder block wall compared to 5.56? Sure the 5.56 can punch nice little holes with higher penetration, but the 7.62 is going to blow out fist sized chunks of the wall with every impact. The difference is night and day. It’s the same with .45 compared to 9mm.
The 45 round should be doing a lot more damage than 9mm in game. Not from simply a factual standpoint but for balance. There’s absolutely no reason to choose any other SMG than the K30 with the current broken OP state of the K30.
And just FYI I use the K30 about 90% of the time. Each SMG in game should be viable and should have unique strengths and weaknesses.
