Re: How does year 1 pass work with cross progression?

@thunderragehao  Actually you take your "Progress" over, however

Cross-progression

As a reminder, we also have cross-progression functionality within Battlefield 2042, which will be shared across all platforms and travel with you wherever you go as long as you play on the same EA account. This means your unlocked progress and completed purchases in your PlayStation® copy of the game will carry over onto the Xbox or PC version, and vice versa.

For example, your new unlocked skin for your M5A3 assault rifle on PlayStation®, alongside your in-game progress such as Player Level and Mastery, carries with you if you now choose to jump into the action on Xbox Series X|S.

While there are a few limitations to cross-progression we want to make you aware of, such as Special Edition cosmetics, the Digital Artbook & Soundtrack, unspent Premium Currency and pre-order items not carrying over, we’re excited about giving you the freedom to play and progress wherever you choose to play.

there is a high chance (I think to 90%) that the "Battle Pass" also carry over (if you have unlocked for an example Battle Pass *Max Rank* you should also have Battle Pass *Max Rank* on the other Plattform and vice versa.

My sceptical view (the other 10%):

Spoiler

On the other site (I am a little bit sceptical) could "Battle Pass" also counts under "Premium Currency" or as purchase "outside of your *Plattform* Copy", the reason I think that way is if you read the quote carefully you will notice they are not referring to the "Battle Pass" explicit like they does with the other Items, here I would like to see an edit.

Good will would be: The battle pass is a "purchase in your "Plattform" Copy" and will also carryover.

Greedy would be: The battle pass is a "purchase outside your "Plattform" Copy" and will not carryover.

Sorry to give you no direct answer at all, I just don't want to give you a false answer neither.

May a Community Manger or another User with an another "direct Source" from DICE/EA can give a more solid answer.

  • Thank you for the reply, I am thinking to buy the gold edition. Not sure if the year 1 pass that comes with the gold edition can be applied if I moved to a different platform later with a standard edition.

As of right now, the Year 1 Pass that I purchased on PS5 is not accessible on Xbox or any other platform. The EA Help line has told me that this "purchase" is not applicable. Here is what is written on the BF 2042 EA Website regarding cross platform play and purchases:

"As a reminder, we also have cross-progression functionality within Battlefield 2042, which will be shared across all platforms and travel with you wherever you go as long as you play on the same EA account. This means your unlocked progress and completed purchases in your PlayStation® copy of the game will carry over onto the Xbox or PC version, and vice versa."

This can be found under the NEWS tab on the official website under the Get Ready For Launch post.

I have regrettably spent far more time today wasting my time with the EAHelp chat and phone customer service. I have been told explicitly that the Year 1 Pass is not accessible on multiple platforms. I feel as things stand, the statement quoted above and their stated position are in direct conflict with one another. I suggest someone explicitly denote that the Year 1 pass is not a "purchase" that can carry over, or address the issue since it is not working as stated. Either way, how it was handled and addressed using EAHelp was anything but helpful. I was told I will have to wait possible up to two weeks before this will be addressed. While I understand there are a not a lot of people who own multiple platforms to play this game on, there may be enough over the next two weeks who will read what is quoted above and purchase multiple copies of the game and only one year 1 pass only to find it is not carried over.

Thank you for looking into this matter. I have contacted both Sony and Microsoft and they both referred me to EA to address this issue.
