The whole game is a balance nightmare tbh. Get in a Bolte and try to drive around for a while. It steers like a pregnant yak, the weapon systems for the driver are cosmetic at best and you can be killed right out of the cockpit by a pistol.
That aside, I agree the mechanics of foot soldier vs. tank/vehicle is screwy and needs work, just don't think that taking out a tank by firing 3 rounds at it, profit is the way. I've been one shotted from full health in a tank by the M5 and Lis rocket as recent as this week. It somehow can be done.
