Re: Issue with Irishs trophy system? Video proof

@ATFGunr There is literally no reason that Grenade should not have been destroyed. If the Grenade comes within a certain distance from the trophy system, it gets destroyed. This is no different. I'm not sure what you trying to tell me but this is a clear example of it not working how it's intended

@ZRuff46The radius is a very small 3m. And it has to be in the air and within those 3m. If it hits the ground and then bounces to within 3m, the trophy system will not destroy the grenade on the ground. I think that is what happened here. The grenade came over those metal crates you were using for cover and landed outside of the range of the trophy, then bounced and rolled right under it and detonated. ☹️

@DigitalHype I had that happen exactly as you described last night. Irish shield was set and destroying grenades as per usual. I watched one bounce off a rock and slide on the ground right to my feet as I crouched behind the trophy. Boom. Took out me and the aps. Oops. If we could purposely throw a grenade underhand so that it slid on the ground like a bowling ball, the shield system would be useless.

@ATFGunr So are you saying that it won't destroy the grenade if it's too low? I mean I've seen several grenades get destroyed that were skipping across the ground. Plus even then the grenade was thrown over that box which is taller than the trophy system so technically it should have still been destroyed. Obviously in my video, you can't see the exact path the grenade travel but you can tell it went over that box. I just want dice to take a look at it

@DigitalHype But look at the video again. That's not what happen. It most likely would have bounced off the crates or the wall and landed right at the feet of the trophy system. It would have been higher than the trophy system at one point which would have been within range. That trophy system is to close to that box for it to have been out of range.

@ZRuff46 Keep in mind with 2042 netcoding, desync etc, where you think the grenade was might not have been the actual location. I get you’re going to believe what you believe, and we all know that internet conversations result in people changing their opinions right? Lol. If nothing else I can agree with your frustration with the game and its inconsistencies.

@ZRuff46I did look at it close the first time, frame by frame. You can see the intial indication of grenade when you are still facing west and there are no directional indicators yet, until you turn southward. When the enemy releases it, the first indicator actually shows they have thrown it slightly to the right of your facing position, as it indicates a right arrow. Then as you turn southward (right) the indicator changes to left. Since it moves based on which way you are facing.

If you go frame by frame, you can see the indicator bounce happen just as it approaches you. I actually think it hits very close to your feet but slightly left and behind the direction you are looking at that time. Then bounced under the sentinel. This looks to be just outside the 3m range of the sphere radius. Keep in mind also that the sphere position is shift slightly up on the position of the sentinel and not at its vertical center.

I suspect if your trophy had been just a few centimeters more west it would have intercepted the grenade on the downward arc.

@ATFGunr I'm almost 100% sure it's the netcode/desync. Countless times I've died to nades that I cannot kick away because they are not where they show they are on my screen. I've died to nades landing on the other side of shipping containers to my position. I've also had experiences where the desyncs are so bad I've managed to drown on land.

Another thing to mention is how terrible those incoming nade markers are. They show the direction of the impending explosion with the little directional arrow (which is fine) but the trajectories of the projectiles defy physics as we can see in the video.

The tracjectory looks like its skidding across the floor and would hit the cover in the video. It's completely busted.

@ZRuff46 exactly what we are saying - the grenade has to be within the sphere of its influence. in your instance it was not.
