Re: Keyboard and mouse on consoles

@CyberDyme PS5 and xbox both can detect mouse and keyboard when plugged in. Games like COD requires you to select the input you want to play with before you go for matchmaking and if you connect a mouse while in a controller lobby it does not work. It is possible to detect and appropriately match players based on input. That's how input matchmaking works.

The devs don't even need to scrap anything to add in input matchmaking. If I choose a M&K as input, ignore my crossplay preference and put me in a crossplay lobby. We dont want to be in a controller lobby with a M&K either.

    Sounds great @FireExhauster ,

But we dont have that function/filter option in Battlefield.

Trouble is that scriptfile m&k for consoles is the most abused cheating on consoles for FPS gaming.

And the EA AC you refer to is not detecting such kind of cheating...

Until it is, I am not happy with allowing console players in the game using m&k.

Unfortunate for the honest m&k console players, but matter of fact.

Just of pure interest for the PC players' point of view:  Assume you then want EA to disable auto-rotation and aim assist when you are on the m&k console platform.  Otherwise again, you set yourself up for a mighty advantage against the standard PC players despite you all can abuse the same level of scriptfile cheats on your input devices.

If the servers were filtered based on gaming input devices, then I definitely agree that such setup could work for us all.

  • @CyberDyme We don't have M&K support for consoles either so what would they add a filter for? Adding this support and the appropriate filters to keep controller players away from a M&K lobby comes under our request. We even suggested a solution for it to not have to create more lobbies and split the player base even more.

Like I said, if I plug in a M&K to my PS5, games like COD or halo can detect it. And as far as I am aware, cod doesnt use this info for filtering but halo does. Ability to filter out servers based on input is a working concept demonstrated by plenty of popular AAA games and they are currently dominating the market (not necessarily because of this support but the fact that it has been available for a long time and the backlash to it has been minimal). That's how input matchmaking works. The devs don't even need to add input matchmaking lobbies. All they need to do is use the already available 'crossplay' lobby to dump all the M&K console users.

Also I don't understand what your third paragraph means. Are you suggesting the console M&K players will have an advantage over PC?

Because u didn't support keyboard and mouse on the console, and it let me  need to spend 6k usd on my new pc rig. And it is no more budget going to recharge the EA coin. While this money suppose is for EA but u dont want, u let asus rog, nvidia and amd take it off. Well done EA team, u all just * up and done a great job.
