I dont think so at all BF2042 have more destruction than BF3 or BF4 .. And BF4 was the only BF ever to have " Levelution " in the terms you mean it and only few maps features any .. there is tons of maps with negligeable destruction and or levelution in BF4 ..
BF1 and BFV had very dull but imersive maps but most of it isnt destructible ..
Also destruction in BFBC2 and even BFBC end up being cool at first when peoples were not use to it but as soon as players realise they could clear up clean the walls in advance the whole purpose of " Opening a wall " to get a camper wasnt existing no more because building were already pre destroyed before there could be a camper in it ..
SO infantry end up running around in ribble and no mans land with no trees no cover no nothing getting farmed by helicopters and tanks .. it was a nightmare .
2042 is in a sweet spot and there is enough destruction but still not enough cover in many in between objectives area
