I agree which is another reason my friends and I stay away from AOW and HZ. I don't like the spongy nature of the regular modes (among other things) and why I have always gravitated toward Hardcore options in BF in the past. Its all I would have normally played but since it is not an option in BF2042, I don't play those normal BF2042 modes. .....just Portal which is the only reason I bought this game.
I still think however they should have included a hardcore mode as they have in the past. CoD:MW 2019 was the first CoD title I bought in a long time. All my hours playing were spent in hardcore. It was fun but not "BF" fun. Now, my friends and I are having a blast in Portal but it works for us as we prefer a hardcore co-op / PvE experience. If we were looking to start a hardcore PvP one, that would be a different story.
