@MADMAC50K
I love vehicles.
I love using vehicles and I love blowing up vehicles on foot or from a vehicle.
DICE set up 2042 so that using most vehicles feel bad to control and if you lose your vehicle you will most likely lose the slot to another player who will most often be worse at using the vehicle than you are (I would be happy if the next guy is better at the job than me and I would help as much as I can).
That said, DICE took too long to add a good variety of maps in 2042. Infantry Cluster maps are important for a lot of players and useful for most of the other players for progression reasons - MADMAC50K1 year agoSeasoned Ace@UP_Hawxxeye I think the vehicle balance has been all wrong in 2042 since launch. They feel clunky to use, how you access them, the number and types available on each map are often wrong. They are often too OP for infantry to deal with effectively, have too many counter measures, and don't promote their use in a defined role on the battlefield e.g. AA should be rewarded more for shooting down air vehicles, heavy armour should be rewarded more for destroying other armour, light armour for infantry, attack helos for heavy armour, jets for helos etc. etc. - to reward and encourage their use in a defined role and more vehicle on vehicle combat. At the moment it's much easier just to farm infantry as there is little motivation to seek out other vehicles.
The wait is over, time to try it out and see how it plays.

Only COD fortpex players hate the vehicles. This is a battleFIELD game.
Maybe next time DICE should release a 'COD' version of battleFIELD alongside the real battleFIELD.
If people are only playing the ''COD' version, then let it be. battlefield is dead.
I am afraid that battleFIELD is like fine rock music. It will slowly cease to exist giving more space to some kind of rap music. Let's watch battleFIELD die.
For people who say just don't play these maps I would say that's what I'm doing but there's only seven or eight maps in 128 player conquest. I would like to see three times more big maps in the game existing besides so many small maps now.
I am all for the original Hourglass. Please make it available at least in Portal. There is sooo little content anyway... remember : battleFIELD!!! Is the title of the game. - MADMAC50K1 year agoSeasoned Ace

It's like some weird GTA physics-defying arcade nonsense, where all the vehicles are indestructible and they all turn stupidly quickly and helos can do loops about 6ft from the ground etc. with infinite flares. That's not Battlefield, hence why so many love the infantry maps in 2042....

As for the new map - I quite liked it. It is super easy to get spawn locked though, just like Redacted and Haven. Like Haven the outside spawns are too close to the first flags with little routes to escape. To escape the US spawn outside you also have to run up a large dune which is a high point on the map - so enemy snipers at A flag can easy pick you off even before you've started. The run from US spawn to A needed better cover.
Inside is better - more like Redacted. Does quickly become a 'nade-fest like Redacted, but there are plenty of routes and flanking paths to get around choke points.

I played a round on the new stadium map and I have to say it's good. It's a similar experience to the original hourglass map we had. Now imagine this, we had this close combat fight also a huge map attached to it. You could fly here you could parachute here you could be on a rooftop somewhere and then come over here for a good closed quarters combat fight. All on the same map. The original hourglass was one of the best battlefield maps in my opinion if you're a battlefield fan not a COD fan. Dice made a huge mistake listening to all the COD people. The original hourglass had everything. You could just stay all day in the stadium if you liked this experience. You could go on top of the stadium start to snipe if you like or could call in a vehicle and go away, it was AMAZING!!!!

I hate myself for saying this but I really like it. I dunno. I just have had a fun time with it.

Honest opinion: the map at best is a 4/10

It was always the best part of the map. When they said they were redesigning it, I thought they would've left the stadium in as one of the points.
I am glad it is back. Breakthrough has no cover for attackers
Smoking doesn't do anything because they just grenade the cap point and can see through the smoke

Your issue is solved on multiple levels by picking Irish
He can deploy both cover and anti grenade measures.
- We were playing this map yesterday for a few rounds and in TeamSpeak we had some discussion if this is indeed the worst infantry map of the entire series.
BF3 Metro might have been worse on 64p servers, but was enjoyable on 32 and below.
We play since BF1942 and could not think of any map that had less predictability and actual flow/design than this one. Can you? - S3SSioN_SoL1 year agoSeasoned Ace
@MADMAC50K Everyone doesn't hate vehicles in 2042... Everyone hates the poorly designed maps ported straight out of Google Maps.
The infantry farming is a symptom of the worst maps designed in Battlefield history.
We need to go back to when maps had bases, airfields, automatic anti-air turrets at each base. It's a crazy map that you have to watch ahead, to the sides and behind you, but it's fun!

Yes, you need to have eyes in your back on this one.

I like it, I dont play much conquest on it, but ive had fun with breakthrough and tdm.

It’s way too easy to get spawntrapped in Conquest.
I’m back to Redacted in Portal.
- Hudson15311 year agoSeasoned AceBreakthrough is definitely the best mode for this map.
I’ve noticed that when playing conquest most of the fire fights spread over the flags C D E.
Still a cluster f*** though 😂 - RMEChief1 year agoLegend

Still a cluster f*** though 😂The spawns make it ridiculous in BT. If the attackers have one point in the last sector, and you spawn on the other point, the enemy can just camp the spawn and insta-kill you before you fully spawn in.
Outside of that, they need to widen the boundaries and add some cover (like a downed aircraft) on the sides so it doesn't start like fish in a barrel mode.

After having played a decent amount of matches on Stadium Conquest I noticed unbalance in the map where it comes to the spawn areas and out of bounds inside the stadium.
First picture is RU spawn area with the big open section from US POV. Look at minimap where the oob line is, I’m right at it next to that opening. I can easily drop in from the side, top or floor below by going a few secs oob. Usually you can kill some unsuspecting snipers and advance towards E where you will appear in the back of the defending RU side
Now this is the perspective from RU side towards the US spawn. Not alone is the opening itself much smaller vs the opposite side, it also lies further away from the oob line from where I took this screenshot.
Poor balancing if you ask me.
