Re: No Attack vehicles for Defenders in Breakthrough after update 1.1 (BUG)

@SpudBugYa nah. After 20 years of Battlefield I’m capable of giving a fair and informed opinion.

You telling us that “all is well” with vehicle balance is laughable. Player numbers and gamer’s abysmal opinions of 2042 compared to previous BF games say as much.

All previous BF titles have a nice balance as far as vehicles and maps on Conquest maps. Maps like Amiens for example in BF1 only has 1 tank per team and 2 armored cars. Each team can get an additional tank via capturing specific objectives. Note zero aircraft.

Conquest on Argonne Forest has no vehicles(except for the train when one side loses badly) at all and is one of the best maps of all time for the franchise. Note NO VEHICLES at all.

Operation Locker, Metro, the BF3/BF4 Asian Market Map. No vehicles at all or just a MAV type vehicle and some quad runners.

BF4’s Paracel storm has tons of vehicles is an

absolute master piece. Though I can guarantee Paracel Storm with 2 Hinds and 2 Condors per team plus stealth Helos would be an utter nightmare for any ground vehicle or infantry players. Anyone saying anything to the contrary is flat out lying through their teeth.

2042 on the other hand we see DICE shoving every single vehicle in game into every single Conquest map. That includes 64 player maps. 64 player maps have the same number of vehicles as 128 player maps. If it’s not obvious, that’s broken and adversely effects the infantry experience.

Then there’s the fact that the Hannibal and Huron even exist. These stunningly overpowered aircraft prove beyond any reasonable doubt that DICE has absolutely no idea how to balance vehicles.

The Battlefield formula as far as vehicles that works magnificently in previous games has been abandoned in 2042 and 2042’s player numbers and dismal reviews for the game tell the tale.

@Zhukov211 The game loses players and has bad reviews because the maps are utterly empty and boring and because of a huge number of bugs and problems. Including basic things like glitchy and unresponsive mouse and analog input when aiming which still hasn't been fixed.

You need to get some perspective and realize just because you die to helis a few times in a match they don't need to be removed from the game..

Increase the spawns to 3 armor, 1 jet, and 2 attack helis per side and the game will improve because teams can actually fight among vehicles instead of just using vehicles to farm.

@SpudBugDid you even read my post? Have you played previous BF games? What are some of your fav maps?

The answer to max number of vehicles being present in every single match, on every single Conquest map, is NOT adding more vehicles so infantry are farmed at even higher rates 😂🤣.

Your formula would have me instantly uninstalling.

And please don’t insult my intelligence by telling me to “go play infantry only” on Portal on servers that have 5 human beings. That’s not the answer.

@Zhukov211 I am not going to play this game of "you're not a real battlefield player" but I mainly played engineer in bf3 and bf4 and hunted vehicles.. it is far easier to kill vehicles as infantry in this game.

@SpudBugFar easier to kill vehicles …. in 2042? What?

Shoulder fired AT rockets one shot any aircraft in BF3 and BF4. Not so in 2042. That alone disproves your statement.

Engineers in BF4 can carry up to 6 AT mines or 6 slam mines or 2 AA mines plus 5 RPG/SRAW/Javelin/IGLA/Stinger. With that loadout a single Engi can quickly take out an enemy tank or helicopter. We cannot come close to carry any such loadout in 2042 and it’s extremely difficult to down an aircraft in 2042 compared to BF4.

And I’d note that BF4 is by any quantifiable measurement far far more popular than 2042.

@Zhukov211 good thing you have the angel crate where you can fully resupply and change your loadout at any time, and there's twice as many players in most matches and no restrictions on gadgets by class.

Vehicles are much much weaker in 2042 than bf4. There's basically no high skill play in 2042 like in bf3/bf4. High skill vehicle players were untouchable in bf3/4.

Do people forget how people used to fight over the mobile AA trucks in BF3/BF4 and how going 100-0 was an average game?

    @SpudBug

You say “vehicles are much weaker in 2042 than BF4”.

Perhaps you missed my previous statement when I
    pointed to the fact that:

“shoulder fired AT rockets one shot any aircraft in BF3 and BF4. Not so in 2042. That alone disproves your statement.”

Theres also the fact that other than the quad runner, every single transport and attack vehicle in 2042 has 30mm, 40mm and/or 50mm, low skill splash damage weapons, unlike any previous Battlefield game. The presence of so many vehicles running around with low skill splash damage results in frequent “no warning” type deaths for infantry players.

This new formula where every transport has splash damage weapons is part of the problem. The formula from the past BF titles, that’s present in all other BF games, is lightly armed transports or transports with no armament. We need more light jeeps with machine gun, more quad runners, jet skis, motorcycles, Blackhawk and Huey type transports and less mobile death machines that also happen to carry a passenger or two.
