Re: "Non-brutal" feedback for the heads of development.

@-DFA-Thump that's one funny pic, but we should keep things on topic.
What I don't get is why there is still no roadmap, that should have been up like 1 week after launch

  • @KalashDEMFair enough (though I kept it relatively on topic in accordance with received responses). The main problem preventing them from posting a roadmap is because they are stuck in decision purgatory. Their higher ups are pushing hard for hero-shooter microtransaction machine and their devs are telling them that the current state of the game doesn't support OG battlefield nor their bastardized hero shooter attempt.

@-DFA-Thump  See... I wish they would just make up their minds with what they wanted to do with this game. Make it a hero-shooter, fine but drop the BF title cuz this isn't BF. If Dice wants to develop this into a long term hero-shooter, battle royal with match making to compete with Warzone... fine. Lets not abuse the BF player base and tempt other player bases by attempting to blur the lines between BF and BR. They'll simply fail in satisfying both groups.

  • @Dont_Qwit Exactly. They are trying to be everything to everyone and those games are the jack-of-no-trades and the master-of-none. They really should have marketed it as a subdivision of the BF universe like APEX/Warzone (the games they were trying to mimic) did for their respective franchises. Turns out when leadership is terrible, the teams reflect that leadership.

@-DFA-Thump I hope it's basically them internally not being able to decide how they should go forward than for it to be just plain ignoring and pushing out whatever they had planned without acknoledging any of the dissatisfaction amongst a large portion of its fanbase.

I'm just curious to what extend they can keep up the silence at this point.

@Dont_Qwit EA tends to encourage that type of deviations from the core gameplay of franchises.
Remember when they made a PC port of what was designed to be a mobile game and called it Command and Conquer 4?

@DirtyImpulz I have a feeling they will do some form of "we hear you" response by Tuesday. If I were a betting man, it's going to be a hybrid of EA/DICE higher ups doing a damage assessment and whether or not they can salvage the game for microtransaction purposes. If they decide it isn't going to work, they might try to reverse course enough to give hope for the next iteration of Battlefield to garner support for future pre-orders since they "showed remorse/course correction." So it's basically them (as tone-deaf as possible) forcing their plan to the dissatisfaction of players until they realize it's a lost cause and capitulate enough to "save some hope" for the "future" of the franchise.

@-DFA-Thump Pretty hot take, the forums for the next battlefield will be covered with, "sure this new one sucks but look what they did after 2042 launch!"

I'm afraid that there will be a future for them, but not the future that we hope it will be. I'm  anxious what they come up with...time ( already took too long) will tell.

@Mackstan71 At this point, I would agree. EA/DICE will keep their chosen hero-shooter path and forge a new player base through brute force tactics (burn tens of millions of dollars today to get hundreds of millions in the next 10 years).

@-DFA-ThumpThese companies are never investing so long term, you give them too much credit.

Their marketing strategies + the (lack of) proper long term support only indicate that they are always aiming for the short term fast cash in and then  go to the next game to hype. They are like  someone who chews the chewing gum just  the few tens of seconds it takes for the initial burst of flavor to go away before spiting it out and taking a new one

@UP_Hawxxeye I think your right EA trying to pull all markets from popular games instead of making a bf title in starting to think leaving out destruction in some areas cuz call of duty babies apex legends and fortnight players can’t remember there favorite corner if the buildings been demolished Dice was making a game to satisfy EA not us

@UP_Hawxxeye Yep the greed is getting ridiculous I wonder how much time was put into focus groups and marketing research before the game
