Ive shot a 50 cal.  OMG, what a rush, but my shoulder will never be the same again.  Doesnt matter how tight you hold this behemoth, it kicks like a mule.

I have T1d the DXR and I am currently working the NTW.  Just started really.   The bullet drop is major but workable.  Most my kills are 300 metersish.  Anything under 100 is a 1 shot.

Frankly, of all the things that 1 shot in the game, I think a 50 cal deserves it.  Ive seen what these things do IRL.   The throwing knife and crossbow 1 shots are laughable.

My longest kill was with the DXR.  A headshot at 780 meters.   And it was witnessed!   I was on the top of the sand dune in Hourglass, and he was on the back of the crane at the futball stadium.

You don't understand, the way to use this gun is with iron sights in close combat.

@Padding_Ur_Stats I have hit a few 900+ meter shots with it but after whiffing a magazine or two. I do not think it is a problem with the weapon I think that since when a player moves, they are strafing 10-20 feet in one frame and the bullet velocity does not help because they can see it coming and if the are crouching or standing they can get out the way. The 50cal should be an OHK at all ranges but I think they would have to nerf the ADS to the ground to make it happen

@Padding_Ur_Stats i own a "lite fitty" aka the M82A1 in the original military config.

ive all but gotten used to heavy caliber weapons, as i have a nice cache of them. ranging from .338 Lapua to .50 Browning. several 762 NATO Battle rifles etc etc etc

I agree though, the ballistics here in 2042 are pure *, a turret .50 on say the T28 or M1A5 has a significantly better ballistics arch than the NTW does. which by the way, the NTW-20 is a 20mm or 14.5mm rifle, dodging yet another license there DICE.

@Dont-Let-Me-C-UNo joke. Any shot at any distance should be a one shot kill, but not in EAs weird world. Tiering this thing up is a huge pain and only effect for 100 meter engagements.

And here is an interesting update to this topic....

Last night I spotted a couple of snipers laying next to each other, under 100m away, so I took a shot at the closest one, facing them from a flanked position. Apparentally there were actually 3 snipers all laying in a line, because my shot killed all 3 in a single shot.

But hit someone beyond 100m and it takes 2 rounds to take them down.

Since you are into big bores, if you want a giggle, find the 338 norma minigun (supressed!) from shot this year (tfbtv showtime channel on youtube)

Oh, and it also comes in 338 lapua 🤣

  • @Ahhnuld The double kill with the sniper rifles is so satisfying.

I've been lucky enough to get some with the NTW-50 but I've also been on the receiving end and it wasn't the NTW-50 but another sniper rifle but I can't remember which one.
