Re: Premium pass does not transfer between platforms

The battle pass is considered an in-game purchase though, since you have to buy it with Battlefield Currency. DICE and EA stated multiple times that your in-game purchases follow you to any platform you play on.

It makes no sense to make someone buy the battle pass multiple times. Not even Call of Duty makes their players buy those battle pass multiple times. The COD battle passes are available on whatever platform you're playing on after purchasing it once.

Editing my post to add the screen shot from EA's own blog post about cross progression in this game. It says purchases carry over to other platforms and the battle pass is obtained via an in game purchase. You buy it with Battlefield Currency. The battle pass is also not listed in the excluded items list. So according to the information EA has provided, it should transfer across platforms after purchasing it only once.

It doesn't matter if you purchased it with Battlefield currency or with the Ultimate Edition. The Season 1 battle pass itself is purchasable with Battlefield Currency, which makes it an in-game purchase. And according to EA's blog about cross progression, it's supposed to be available on all platforms if you've purchased it once.

There's no way they would make Ultimate Edition owners buy the battle pass twice but let Standard Edition owners that bought the pass in game have it cross platform. They've made an error somewhere and need to fix it. No other cross progression game makes their players purchase their battle passes more than once.

Why has my comment been merged into a thread from over a year ago? How is this topic supposed to be answered and fixed if it's suppressed into a thread that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about? Wtf

    Hi all,

Thanks a lot for updating this thread with new reports.

I have a question for you all; once you make progress on the platform where you've actually bought the Pass on (so either standalone (if this is an option) or via the Gold/Ultimate Editions of the game), finish a round & close down everything --> and play the game on the other platform you own the base game on, does that progress carry over for you and does it show the same progress etc.?

I would also really appreciate it if it's possible for you to maybe post some screenshots of the Battle Pass (progress) of what you're seeing on the platform where you own the pass on & the platform where you only own the base game. Many thanks in advance!

  • So EA/DICE don't know if their own battlepass is linked between platforms?  Odd suggestion but have you tried testing this?  I have a feeling someone at DICE has a PS5 and XSX and can give one of their own workers copies of their own game for both platforms.  Then, only have a single battlepass for one of the platforms (lets just say XSX) and see if they can link their PS5 account to EA and see if the BP works?  I mean, I'm no tester but I feel like this is a yes or no answer.  Maybe even try it from the tester's own home so that it is physically separated from the DICE network.  Dunno, just spit-balling over here.

I have the same progress on both systems. But on where the standard is, there is all shown as logged. And there is no icon like premium pass is active.

To unlock, i must get one step on the platform with ultimate.

I don't understand why Dice / EA didn't activate the year 1 pass for both systems.

    Sorry for my bad english.

And there is only one answer to that question:    $

  • Hi @EA_Leeuw ,

I have the ultimate edition on my XB Series X. When I play on the xbox, where I have the premium battle pass, any progression I make is also noted on my PC version of the game (standard and no battle pass purchased).

Also, any progress made on my PC version of the game, is carried over to the xbox however, I need to rank up at least once on the xbox for it to give me the unlocks associated with the premium tier of the battle pass that I should have gained while playing PC

Once I receive the unlocks via the xbox, I am able to use on the PC.

@EA_Leeuw Bought Gold edition for PS4, then transitioned to Xbox X. My rank is linked on both systems, but only PS4 shows premium pass and full battlepass progression. Xbox has same premium pass progression, but only free stuff is unlocked.

@SirFragALOT75 This is great but like why make it such a hassle? Like why force players to rank up on one just to unlock the items on the other? Why not just give access to it on both consoles?
  • @mccawwww Not sure if you are asking me or EA? I agree, it is a huge hassle. I expect this is unintended but who knows, they may very well knew this was the case and just want more of our hard earned $$. I hope they make this right and give us access across all platforms but I don’t have my hopes up. I will say that if this was intentional then I’ll be happy to step away from all things EA. After all, Battlefield is the only EA title I care about and while the new update is good, they still have a long way to go to earn my trust back.

That and I could have sworn that pre-release or soon after someone from EA/DICE specified this will support cross-commerce and progression. Am I mistaken/remembering incorrectly? (not saying you are with EA, but replying to your point, for clarity)

@SirFragALOT75 Not asking you but just kind of stating it as a fact directed to EA haha. Definitely agreed with everything you said though.
  • Oh yeah, this is saying that exactly. Weird that EA support doesn’t know that. Now, let’s see if they fix it…

I have Ultimate version on PC and regular on PS5, the Battle Pass coins don't sync between platforms I have 1.200 on PC but 100 on PS5, all the unlocked items are synced. It's a shame to not sync all data... since it's all EA account.
