I don't see this happening, there would be thousands of servers with just one player, I doubt EA would be good paying for this. Sorry, I don't have an answer.

@sk1lld Not sure how much 'value' I put on a game that I can't play when I want to.
Full disclosure - I am in Oceania, and haven't been able to play any game mode, except Conquest (and only in peak times), for months. If it wasn't for Portal...
If EA cannot guarantee a reasonable level of player support, they shouldn't launch it into smaller markets.

I think the situation is deteriorating, it is harder to get into matches now than it was previously.

I checked the current Portal Official Experiences :-

Conquest of Ages - now requires 8 players to start, it used to be a one player start

2042 Tank Superiority - now requires 4 players to start, it also used to be a one player start.

I maintain that  we need to get the servers started asap and backfill with AI (1 player starts),  and then the AI bots get replaced with humans as more players join, it worked perfectly well before in the POE's  so I don't see why it wouldn't work in AOW also.

@Lancelot_du_LacI feel you. I’m lucky to be in a densely populated area (Western Europe) so I can still play with crossplay off. But that is also for the main game modes like Conquest and Breakthrough. Finding a game of rush, no chance ☹️
And now that there will be no more new content I foresee the population will drastically drop once the season is over.

On the issue of multiple servers running with one person; How difficult would it be to put anybody that starts a search for a game into an existing running server with real people, backfilling AI? I was under the impression that it already works like that.

That is exactly how I thought it worked too.

Imho we spend way too much time waiting to play, time that should be spent actually playing. !

@RanzigeRidder2 And it does fill up, so well when game loads in, either you get victory or defeated message, then start again with scrambled eggs

@RayD_O1 @Man_iLoveFishing Yes I had the same feeling so the the issue @sk1lld described is a non-issue.

the loading into a game just before it ends only be thrown back into mm is one of the most frustrating things, as @RayD_O1 said, we spend too much time waiting in lobbies that should be spend on playing.

I strongly believe with the dwindling player numbers this is something we need to push for.

Otherwise it will become a ghost town due to more and more players quitting out of pure frustration 😕.

As well as needing one player starts, we also need the ability to play through map rotations, less time in lobbies more time in game I say.

It is imperative that all players have access to BF2042 at all times.

Imho this could be simply achieved if we had one player starts in all modes in both AOW and the Weekly Portal Official Experiences.

Sometimes its nice getting a warm up bot killing match in with some human players tossed it.

    @GrizzGolf
    Yep it works well. 👍

One player starts, backfilled with bots gets the match started instantly.

Much better than queueing in MM to reach a specified required number, and usually the bots get replaced with humans fairly quickly until the server is full.

@RayD_O1Exactly! Playing the same map twice in a row is also annoying af

Also not getting to play your favourite map for days on end is another downside. 😒

One player starts and and the ability to play through map rotations would resolve a lot of issues.

I notice even more of the Official Portal Experiences that were previously one player starts are now requiring a minimum number of players to start.

This is a major backward step imho that will make it even harder for players in regions with low player counts or players wanting to play with crossplay off.

I think this decision should be reversed and one player starts should be returned to OPE's and extended to AOW so we can all spend more time playing and less time queueng in lobbies.

Yes I also noticed that the waiting times in the lobbies were buffed.

@RayD_O1 classic battle between Marketing (trying to keep their dwindling customer base happy) and Finance (low player count servers are costing too much money, now the revenue has dried up).
I'm sure there are many players who will remember this, and pay back in kind.
  • They are losing players with all the kiddo lameo rotating game modes. They removed Rush again because is rotating so much no one comes back once it’s removed. Sadly it’s more than just lowering the the starting amount, like really it backloads losing matches already, who wants to return to a game that’s always losing a losing game. If that’s not boring you enough let’s let the match start vs ai and you just whopping the ai and then it loads another player into an ongoing losing match that too far lost to even matter so that player isn’t going to revisit this game either. So balancing the lower starting amount and vs ai could help but their matchmaking in general is completely broken combined with the kiddie button mashing cod game modes that’s losing players. Oh do I mention the matchmaking has been broken since day one losing players. Thanks for everyone always hating the voice of honestly and reporting it like Karen’s because it makes their brains hurt to actually think. I will promptly be temp banned because somewhere in this post is some protected class word or words that’s more important than anyone else except those protected class people claiming to be regular people that need respect. And you think they will listen and change anything about lowering the starting player count when they can’t fix matchmaking with policies that ban and remove content that points out the real issues you have really alot of faith in ea choices.
