There is no "primary" game mode.
BF2042 has three equal valued game modes, AOW, Portal and HZ.

But this XP-farm exploiting had to be stopped, so they did right to disable XP in portal.
Thanks to those players exploiting in video games.

I guess they are working on a way to balance it in a new way so they can enable it again, without having the XP-farm issues.

Maybe they could implement something like "diminished return", so if you e.g. kill a set amount of enemies in a short time, they give lesser and lesser XP.

Portal ... Can change game rules, weapons, factions etc and so forth.
AOW (Conquest, Break Through)... No modifications allowed.
Hazard Zone... No modifications allowed.
Thus Primary GM's are AOW and HZ.

Thats so stupid. Its a primary game mode, that exist for modification.

There is no reason to sort those modes by any meaning.

That wasnt the only issue. A big issue was that people named a custom server like " Farm XP against bots 128 players HC valparaiso" as example but there werent any bots, they just had 1 x 4 team on one side having weapon loadouts and the rest who joined entered on the opposing team with 1 hp and no loadouts and since people thought it was another type of game mode people just kept joining while the team with loadout was just hammering down people and gaining exp and progression.

I just want to play some maps without vehicle and less people so I don't have to get sniped or ran over with hovercraft constantly.
These have always been BF staples, so if they aren't going to add them back into the "main game" then they should figure out how to make portal servers that count towards progression, like a certain class of rules and minimum players where it counts.
It's not that hard.
I can't believe we're even in this spot now in 2021 having to beg for standard features been around since 2003 or whatever.

@N4pfk they should just disable or lower xp from killing AI thats it.
my server filled up before the end of first round and was just PVP

@ol7s But thats not how the XP farm servers worked.
And the problem was that those XP farm servers fludded portal, so that you didnt found any other modes.

Maybe they should have a diminished return on ever game mode then. People are leveling up too fast on this game. Maybe they should make the unlocks harder as well. People should play the game 24/7 365 just to unlock level 10. I mean, gamers dont have lives right and after they unlock everything, no one will play the game any more right? I mean look at the other battlefields from years ago still going strong. This is a joke plain and simple.
