Nothing in Portal still, no gun progression, no character progression. Nothing. Portal is useless like that.

Blame the morons that set up farming servers for that.

End of the day though what does it matter? CoD rewards you for playing vs bots (zombies) so what's the difference here?
- @1Hairy-Gorilla That comparison to CoD might just motivate them to bring it all back seeing that DICE/EA are chasing trends these days.
- @Radious1987 I do gain XP now in portal, gained a level and a new weapon. But my kills don't count for getting new scopes, barrels, attachments.. where is the logic in that?
- @TAYTER-GUN They should be able to control it somehow... like don't gain XP from AI... who uses AI anyway... we didn't need it before and don't need it now for real gameplay. Maybe for goofing of or practicing it could be useful but if having AI means you have to disable the XP/progression then it does more harm than it's useful...
At this point, I'd rather have all XP back like it was on the Friday of early release even with the XP farms, at least if you got into a game playing in portal actually counted towards something and we could play a version of BF that we could actually enjoy - Portal sucks now - It just feels empty when you play it and for me it's pretty much dead until everything goes back to the original state.
Let people get warnings for joining XP servers - to be honest if you want to farm and waste your time work away, the unlocks aren't all that fantastic anyway tbh. Screwing over a whole 1/3 of the game with the most potential to keep/attract players seems quite stupid to me.
exactly at the end of the day. It's about having fun not about the grind. If some want to play the casual journey and have everything unlocked, why not. I don't mind earning stuff along the way.

I wonder if it's their way of pushing people back towards the base game? You just knew they wouldn't want everyone and their cousins on just Portal while their beloved All Out Warfare dried up.
@ol7s People like to play legitimately against AI, there's great opportunities for new games modes for Co-Op/Solo i.e. an insertion mode where a team/solo gets dropped into the middle of the map and need to fight all the way to their pickup that is what makes Portal such a game changer Dice EA just need to throw the switch back on - people gaming the system can be easily caught and reprimanded retrospectively if THEY are worried about their battle-pass which will probably work of XP,
Unfortunately Dice/EA - I don't think this game is going to last until your battle-pass - I've nearly thrown in the towel at this point.
As I said earlier at this point let the farmers come - Its Dice/Ea killing the mode not them.
- @Kevlarddos You make a good point. I don't really care if someone unlocks everything quickly either. As long as people CAN unlock something. I just want to play the game in a way I enjoy and be able to unlock stuff. Right now I end up not playing at all because I don't enjoy the game size of the All Out Warfare and feels useless to play on portal servers cause I won't be able to upgrade my weapons. So there's something to think about DICE 🙂

2. Get killed by Armor / Chopper ...
Maps are too big, everybody need to run tanks to frag. Portal gameplay is nice, but as you said, you gain no XP for weapons... Sad. DICE
Come on.... PORTAL is useless right now.
We want to play Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, play small Conquest, play infantry only, smaller maps with light vehicles and so on.
No one wants to spawn in and get carpet bombed all day long. Sure its nice with AOW Conquest from time to time, but we also need to be able to play infantry VS infantry.
Dont say its there in Portal, because with no progression and no XP nobody will touch it.
- @Doktor_Dune Yup, nobody plays portal because progression is disabled, who gives a f*ck if people start leveling up quickly?
They are not cheating or ruining other people fun. - @SkyL4Ncer21 unless they plan to add micro transactions, money for leveling up quickly... Which would be even more sad
It's not difficult to determine which settings constitute an "XP farm." Simply set up filters and let people know that if they use those XP farm settings, they won't gain XP or unlocks. Very simple. Those of us who play legit matches can still get XP and unlocks.
It's capped at 15780 in Portal so not totally enabled.
Not being able to level up guns, vehicles and characters in Portal is just silly. Minimum should be same as it is now in Solo.
I think we need to keep on voicing our dissatisfaction until everything goes back to Day 1 of early release, A lot of people don't like AOW Multiplayer - which is fine, people like HC, Solo,w/h 120+ BOT's, TDM, 64 Player Maps, thats what the promise of Portal gave us................ the ability to Lvl/Progress in whatever fashion we wanted, why they took this away baffles me.
Of course the XP farms clogged the servers, just have someone on hand to close them down as the TOS violation or just disable the XP on servers with those and similar settings (Sorry I robbed that idea off @ChugKendall )
- @DeeCay_DK_81 No you are right, Portal was meant for people to play games with custom setting. As we have done in EVERY Battlefield game until now. But what good is it if you can't progress your level/weapons the same as in the base game mode? Then it forces you to play 1000 hours on the base game and THEN ONLY switch over to portal to play the game as you would hae liked from the beginning.
All Out Warfare gets REALLY boring quickly and it's the only feasible way to play the game right now. So there's practically only 2 game modes available, you can't choose what map to play. You might end up defending the same map/any map for 6 times in a row. I would forgive DICE for the lack of legacy features and all broken * etc at launch if I could just play the game with custom settings. - @Boland110 Yeah or remove the parameters which enables you to abuse servers like that. We had custom servers in Battelfield 3 & 4 and we had no problems? So just remove the damn setting where you can turn health down to 1... or what ever people are doing to make the server a XP FARM.. easy as that..

If everyone is playing old maps on portal it dnt look good for 2042! Ea will be made to look bad so cap it and ppl wnt play. makes it look like they did a good job with the new maps.
Totally agree with this, Totally putting me off the game at the moment because I only play hardcore so finding a server in portal is the only way to go for me, but then not getting any rewards for playing is pointless. Tey should just scrap the ai and re enable kill tracking.
